Yo, how goes everyone? cool1.gif

Im experimenting with triggers and I came across "Switches" (Set Switch, remove switch...yea you know)

Frankly, Im stumped. Can someone elaborate the "switches" Triggers for me? ( give an example; if you dont mind)

Thanks in advance. tongue.gif

Think of a light switch. If it's on, the circuit is connected, and electricity powers the light. If it's off, the circuit is broken and there is no power. Switches work similarly, but you can use them as conditions or actions. Example:

Trigger
Description:
Condition Trigger
Players:
¤ Player 1
Conditions:
¤ Current player commands 3 probes at 'Location 5'.
Actions:
¤ Set 'Switch 1'

And then for when the switch is set:

Trigger
Description:
Action Trigger
Players:
¤ Player 1
Conditions:
¤ 'Switch 1' is set.
Actions:
¤ Create 9 Marines at 'Location 2'

Switches are used in almost all war and RP/RPG maps, among others.

There are also tutorials for the switches

Also, Death Counter are, you can say another form of switches. If a certain amount of deaths are here then do something. You also set the amount of deaths (set switch).

Another analogy to think of it is having two areas of lowered terrain with a civillian in one of the holes. Now, you can use triggers to move this civv back and forth from which hole he is in. Also, you can activate or prevent triggers by having this civv in a specific hole by simply using the "bring" condition.

Switches are the same; they are either Cleared or Set, and you can make actions to either Clear or Set a switch, as well as make them conditions in a trigger. They all start cleared.

I hope my little comparison helped smile.gif
