My Modding Tutorial!

0. Make sure you know how to make a basic mod.

1.Open Arsenal III.

2.Go To Unit Editor.

3.Go To Terran Units>Ground Units>Terran Marine.

4.Change both Attack's to '' Venom '' (Make sure its the First one)

5.Change the HP to 100, and the shields to 1000.

6.Check The box next to '' Shields ''.

7.Change The time To 10.

8.Change the Armor to 50 (If you haven't caught on, we are making God Marines.smile.gif )

9.Go to the Advanced tab.

10.Check; Permanent Cloak;Regenerates HP;And Detector.

11.Go To The Graphics Tab.

12. Change '' General Animation '' to Protoss Dragoon.

13.Change The Portrait To '' Raszagal ''

14. Save The File To Your '' My Mods '' Folder. NOTE: YOU MUST SAVE THIS AS units.dat , NOT ANY OTHER FILE NAME.

15. Close Unit Editor.

16. Go To Weapon Editor.

17. Change Zerg Weapons>Venom (Make sure its the first one!) to Amount: 100, Cooldown: 3 Upgrade: Terran Infantry Weapons And Explosion To : Line Splash.

18. Save this File As weapons.dat NOTE: YOU MUST SAVE THIS AS A WEAPONS.DAT, NOT ANY OTHER FILE NAME.

19. Make an MPQ Called Marine.mpq.

20.Add Both The units.dat And weapons.dat, and when it asks you for a prompt , type arr\

21. (Im Getting LAZY.) Use MPQDraft And Do What DT_BattleKruser Says About MPQDraft. Then Marvel At Your Kick Butt Marine\Dragoon\Secret Zerg Weapon!



This SCV Has Some Issues....

1.Open Arsenal III.

2.Go To Unit Editor.

3. Go To Terran Units>Ground Units>Terran SCV.

4. Change The Ground Attack To '' Maelstrom ''

5.Change The HP To 500.

6.Change The Sheilds To 9000.

7.Change The Time To 1.

8.Change The Minerals to 10.

9.Go To The Advanced Tab.

10.Change these buttons for it : Detector,Robotic Unit,Hero.

11. Go to the Graphics Tab.

12.Change The General Animation to '' Protoss Interceptor ''

13.Change The Portrait To '' Zerg Gas Sac ''

14.Save This File As units.dat , like the Last Mod, And Add It To Your MPQ Again. Make Sure You Delete The weapons.dat, Dont want the defilers shooting Venom!(Haha, its unused.)

If thats a tutorial then why doesnt it explain how to make a mod instead of telling how to make your mod?

Umm... First Of All, i have Only Started on this Tutorial, And second... This is how to make a mod, not neccaserially my mod...

As TERRAINFIGHTER said, we already have tutorials that focus on Arsenal III. If you want to make a unique tutorial, try focusing on stuff like iscript editing, which is confusing to new modders, yet there are very few tutorials on it.

Or, even better, using Memgraft. I have no idea how to use that properly. Well a few ideas, but I suck at it.
You should have explained what each mod up there does, why it acts like that, etc.
No offense, but DTBK's first tutorial mod I would take over both of those.
He explained almost everything.

A good Tutorial for modders:
How to make Optical Flare target ground/building/non organic units /etc
Go to Orders.dat,now go to optical flare ,set UNK1,now the special attack flags for optical flare at weapons.dat work!

Air(0x0001) - Targets air
Ground(0x0002) - Targets ground
0x0004 - targets organic units
0x0008 - targets mechanical units
0x0010 - disables buildings from being targeted
0x0020 - disables robotic units from being targeted
0x0040 - targets terrain
0x0080 - must have either the organic or mechanical flag enabled to be targeted
0x0100 - only owned units

the same thing works with irradiate and Cure

Ok, i Cannot Use Ice Or IceCC, I Dont know why it should be used ecxept for adding Air/Ground Attack... And i suck at MemGraft, Different Story for Stargraft...
I Think Im Gonna Continue Adding Stuff for my modding tutorial, Why is it a Bad idea? Some unique Ideas (For those who want Some Pizzaz!),And Im Using Notepad tongue.gif

Anyway, a good modder wouldn't need a tutorial like this..
If he needs this, then he/she's not a good modder.

Then please rename it to something else or something. You called this 'a tutorial for good modders', not 'Modding Ideas'. If this had been modding ideas this is in the wrong section anyway.
