Is world wide peace possible for the human species? Can physical violence ever be stopped completely? What are the steps to take in order for world peace to be obtained? Do you think that there should never be peace and that the universe must always have good and evil?
Personally, I'd like a world where science and the need for knowledge overcomes all bad things.

No.

I second that.
can you try to answer my other questions.....
i dont think you guys are being very serious
In the universe, I believe that nothing can exist without an opposite. For that reason, there must always be an antithesis for peace or war. But then again, states of peace and war are concoctions of human perception.
Of course, if you
really want to know what I think would work to achieve "peace", it would be to eradicate all life in the universe. The natural order of the cosmos is to break down into a gradual state of chaos. The very nature of life is against that as it seeks to grow and become more complex. Life is a very clever little bugger in that it keeps finding new ways to become more complex and avoid breaking down. Therefor, it is impossible for LIFE to have PEACE, because it exists to struggle.
So obviously, no one would be around to enjoy true peace if it is ever achieved.

"I see no world peace 'cause of zealous armed forces."

Once every country has a nuclear arsenal and is passed religious stuff (I'm talking about you Iran) I'm sure there will be peace, out of fear though. Unless there's a crazed government/leader (I'm talking about you North Korea/Kim Sung Il).
[sub]Its part pf human nature to hurt others. Its impossible for us to be peaceful, its sad really. Because of my Hippie orgins, I try to stay as peaceful as I can, but I can't sit here and stay I've never hit someone else.
I think if we really wanted peace, we could wrap everything in bubble tape, that may work.. Oh, we could also just kill all the humans in the world, and from that instance, there would be peace.[/sub]

I'm just exactly like you with this stance. Even the Hippie origins.
yeah, humans sparked the rivalry between gazels and lions that's seems logical valug...

There are no such things as "good" and "evil", only inidividual perception of what exists and what does not.
Off topic: I think good and evil does exists, but is too abstract to define or see it
(I really don't want to make a topic of good and evil)

Peace is nowhere close to possible. There's too much hate, racism, and violence in this small esoteric world.
Physical violence is too farspread. It cannot be contained nor controlled. So, no it can't be stopped completely
To achieve world, people must learn to accept each other and love one another. However, it is impossible for everyone to do this.
As for your last question, I don't know.
there are at least a few people who dont hate, are not racists, and are not violent
if we got rid of the others or made new generations like them, then i think world peace is possible
im not talking about the world being full of monks or priests, im talking about being in a world where people dont have to worry about the possibility of crime or deadly conflicts occuring anywhere in the world
crime prevents the world from being in peace
i think that in order to stop crime or decrease greatly, we have to do a couple of things:
•hunt down all gangsters and bring them into custody, even if they weren't commiting a crime when you found them; you might as well arrest the gangsters now because obviously they'll commit a crime, even if it's a small one
•add and enforce dress codes in schools saying that students cant wear/carry gang related clothes
•give students detention if they have a grade below a C-
•add small police stations in ghetto areas

Erradication of the human race(might have to take some animals and plants too)

Easy to say, not so easy to do.
Ever heard of MS-13? They're an El Salvadoran gang with tens of thousands of members. Police have been hunting down members of MS-13 for years, but they just come back with more. Dress codes already exist, they can't be extensively enforced by administrators. Detention = Blown off.
Peace. Is. Impossible.
I'm not saying that because I lack faith in humanity, but because a square peg cannot fit in a round hole. As I said, the very EXISTENCE of life goes against the natural laws of the universe. Life exists because it breaks rules, not follows them. Not just in humans, but in any type of lifeform. That's just it's nature.
Human violence is just a part of the consequence of life's struggles.
Is world wide peace possible for the human species?
(NO.)
Can physical violence ever be stopped completely?
(NO.)
What are the steps to take in order for world peace to be obtained?
(World peace is impossible, so there are no steps to take.)
Do you think that there should never be peace and that the universe must always have good and evil?
(Peace is boring.)
Personally, I'd like a world where science and the need for knowledge overcomes all bad things.
(War instills the need for science and knowledge. Why? Better ways to kill enemies required. So what do you do? MAKE NEW TECHNOLOGY!)
Define world peace. That is so vague... If you are talking about peace as a whole, then no. The evolutionists and devout religious priests will argue until there are no other side left. The pro and con side of abortion will argue until religion accepts abortion as a good act. But yes if they are talking about as in no war.
well if life can break rules, then it can surely break the rule that peace can not be obtained, right?
i lowered my standards for peace in my last post
so how can we lessen criminal activity???
QUOTE

we are and have always advanced our tech with or without war
war only encourages and...forces us to advance, but we can advance without war and just for the sake of advancing
Killing criminals, maybe? In Singapore, they kill people for drug trafficking. Is there a real drug problem in singapore? No.
So you can assume that killing drug traffickers reduces the drug trafficking problem. TADA, CRIMINAL ACTIVITY LESSENED!
One more thing I'd like to add.
Just observe yourself for a while. If the TV was filled with the news of: "A man shook hands with another man today." or "Family pushes chairs in after they eat." or "Mother takes kids to park today.", etc., you would be bored out of your mind. But if the news says: "Woman drowns boyfriend in toilet.", your interest is grabbed immediatedly (don't deny it).
All I'm trying to say here is that there IS no debate. It's not the President's fault, it's not the gangs' fault, it's not drugs, etc. Getting rid of everything that breaks the law or just pisses you off in general won't change a thing.
THE ONLY way to achieve "peace" (where there is no conflict among beings) is what I said before, to eradicate all life everywhere. There is no argument or debate to be had on this.
ADDITION:
no-0b posted while I was typing this and asked about lessening crime.
My response is this: Morals and percieved illegality are all PERSPECTIVES. I believe that at the very basic level, there is no right and wrong. I have values, and I have opinions. For one thing, I hate drugs. But there are people who think drugs are okay or good and struggle in their defense. If I were to cater the world to make it just the way I want it, then it would be at the expense of many people.
The answer: Brainwash as much of the world as you can so they will think a certain way. Is it wrong? Most would say so, including myself, but it would work, for a little while... Until a rebellion occured. Then back to square one.
Actually world peace would suck. The world would be boring, and there would be no competition or rivalary between countries that boost economy and things such as technology advancements. (I hope some of you get what I'm trying to say)
Also about the good and evil/right and wrong. It's all about perspective. A quote from the long lost debate god Nozomu clarifies it pretty perfectly.
QUOTE(Nozomu)
Evil is a term humans apply to any code of morality radically different from their own. This means that good and evil are subjective. Hypothetically, if only one code of morality existed there would be no terms like good or evil. One cannot exist without the other. To apply such terms to a being without equal is impossible. There's no one with whom He can compare his moral code. Therefore, in essence, He is neither good nor evil, but instead moral.
I'll just say a quote from one of my favorite movies, gundam wing: Endless Waltz. "As long as mankind exists, there will always be battles."
That pretty much sums it up.

World peace is impossible, because its in human nature to compete. We're biologically programmed to compete for mates and do whatever it takes to survive. Including fighting your neighbors for food and land, etc.
