yeah well immigration is what america was created from... poor native indians... anyway the US government isnt really spending much time or money on illigal immigration. because wed rather spend it on war and helping other countries.

right now it cannot be helped. but i do not really see a problem from the moral point of view. it was THIER land in the first place. and america kicked thier assess...

Its because of immigrants that we did such an awesome job to today. They work and pay taxes but receive no benefit from US government, not to mention our families were once immigrants to this country willingly or not.

We do have awfully relaxed borders. It wouldn't hurt to strengthen them a bit, but aren't there more pressing things here? Look at DT's sig.

Not really that much of an issue, but I think its a cause for some concern.

Also, alot of businesses (Wal-Mart, in particular, comes to mind) aren't really that upset by it. Since they aren't citizens, and therefore, do not fall under american minimum wage laws, they can hire them for peanuts. Even if the Mexican immigrants are getting paid less than minimum wage here, it's still a lot more than they would be getting south of the border.

As for my personal feelings on the matter, I don't particularly enjoy it. When the country was founded, it was decided that ENGLISH would be the national language. Yet there is tremendous pressure to learn the spanish language and learn about spanish culture. I mean, try to force Japanese culture on Chinese people; they're gonna slug you in the mouth. Or demand that German people learn French before they can get into college (I don't really know what the college requirements in european countries are, so if I'm wrong, sorry).

There's nothing wrong with learning about other cultures, but I'm almost half American Indian (of various tribes, mostly Cherokee), so why don't they FORCE us to learn more about the true native culture and language?

First of all, the goddamned hispanics dont bother to learn english. I wouldn't care if they did learn english, but the dumb fools dont even bother. They just speak SPANISH, and don't even bother with english in a country where kids are not educated in foreign language as well as other countries.

Is it really expected by these foreigners that they can scrape by a good living without learning english? They cant. They can work for onions. Which reminds, while those immigrants work for onions doing **** I wouldn't want to do, I make minimum wage for simply putting books away.

Im completely fine with legal immigration. I do how ever do not like illegal immigration, you break our national laws to get into this country....what other laws will you break while in this country?

I do not approve of our government not doing more to regulate our borders and it realy disturbs me. There are also many organizations that want our land to not have a national language, they want our langauge to be a salad bowl type system (similar to the melting pot idea that use to describe the United States) where we are all Americans but speak different languages.....

Many spanish immigrants FLAT OUT refruse to learn English . . . . . I would want one rule about joining this country is to have to learn english....

California is having a hell of a time with illegal immigrants, causing California Hospitals to have to care for people who aren't American, don't speak english, often (the illegals) don't pay taxes, shouldn't be here. Now its ok to care for human life but when our hospitals are floooooddded and are going bankrupt cause they can't fuction is when I get angry.

Same thing with Californian schools, they are flooded with children who don't speak english and thats making californian schools over crowded and causing more money to be spent on having teachers be bilangual or how ever you spell it (they must learn spanish and english)..... Basically the California school system is a mess.

I'm fine with illegal immigrants if they pay taxes. If they give money to our government, sure. They are paying for what they are provided. Otherwise, no.

Actually, there is a huge problem with mass immigration. I'll get into it later once I understand the question correctly.

DTBK, do you mean how it influences our social lives or how immigration leads to these problems?

I have to say No Comment. Maybe it's just the area where I live, but I don't see much Mexican/Hispanic influence.

Ditto. Hell, I'm even fine with them being illegal, as long as they pay taxes and learn the english language. I say we should all go to mexico, bang several girls, get them pregnant, and refuse to speak spanish.

Based on my Missions Trip to Mexico in July, it seems to me that many Mexicans that cross our borders do not know any English. Yet many Mexicans who stay in Mexican know how to speak English. I find that interestinglol.

To me, not speaking english at all is the same as not speaking english in an understandable way or comprehending english. Many orientals and indians that migrate over fall under this category, and I find it extremely difficult to communicate with them. And ironically enough, I'm asian as well.

The white male has been digging his own grave for several hundred years now. Its majority rule, and if he wants to stay in power, he's going to have to keep them out. Too bad that's "immoral" and "politically incorrect"...

I agree with DTBK. I've had some friends that were exchange students. Although their english wasn't that good, I still enjoyed talking to them because they were trying, and in return, I would learn a few words of their language.

I've heard stories from people who went to other countries (especially european countries) about running into many natives that CAN speak english, but only for people who try to say something in their language. They won't bother with people who don't even try and just walk up and say "Where's a motel?" That kind of attitude towards english in THIS country annoys me. It makes me feel so much better when they at least TRY to learn some english.

Yup, I also heard that some organizations want none tax paying illegal immgrants to have the right to vote too..... that does not make sense to me.

heh... think about it... if the mexicans keep on immagrating to the US over a couple hundred years we will be reffered as a latino country :0
