I'm working on my clan forums, and a member suggested and made a smilie pack thats made of my favorite ones from SEN.
I dont want to get in trouble or anything, so I want an admin to tell me I can use them in peace.

I dont really think this is necessary, but you can never be too sure these days.

I believe that you use invision. And SEN's smilies are invision smilies so it's not a problem actually. Another problem is that IP can't use these smilies in SENv5 cry.gif

I can use any image I want as a smilie, I can use the picture you use in your avatar as a smilie.
And, actually, I use phpBB. Its free, unlike invision.

Invisionfree boards are free... hence the name. tongue.gif

Then whats the problem?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Centreri on 2005-12-14 at 15:43:12
Yah, but my website has its own domain. I'm not going to throw out my awesome template for PHPBB and the easy domain name just because its free.

Yes it's legal. Even if you wouldn't be permited to use SEN(invision) smilies, the ones I made are not the same so they are 100% legal/new bleh.gif Attached Image

It's called Kolobok. Even SEN restricted them, you can still steal them because it is not copyrighted. Kolobok is a general and most popular type of emoticons. I found a website that has so many different Kolobok emoticons and 99% of the emoticons SEN uses is found on that website.

Actually, I think it is copyrighted.

This is content, though it may not be unique.
I dont know if one of the smilies I borrowed is one of the 1%, so.. Well, I just want permission.

You are acting strange silver. Nobody will care about that 1% of your smilies is a edited version of his. Thats so unnecessary to make a thread about it. Just PM and ask IP is you are so concerned about it...

I mean they are just smilies, small balls with little faces in them. SENv5 will have different smilies anyway. And I doubt that IP or moose will ever visit our site blushing.gif

I'm a bit cautious with legalities.
And when I'm finished with it, the site will be worth visiting, trust me on that.

I sure hope so biggrin.gif

Sorry, if I am sometimes a bit unconcerned about legal stuff. I just don't care about all that stuff, I always avoid buying software and do other pirate stuff. I understand that you can never be too sure but there is stuff that just is not worth concerning about, like 1% of smilies wink.gif

If that's true, I could use the same smilies for senv5 without a problem. I haven't found any link whatsoever that lists these smilies as "Kolobok".
Link please.

As for the topic itself, to my knowledge, the smilies are near 100% invision. I don't care if you use them, but invision might. However, that depends on if what Mooseyne is saying is true and that invision took them from somewhere else with proper/open permission.

Link

It says Kolobok style. Then I typed in google. Google Search Results

It appears that in russia, they have objects called kolobok. I think its to represent the mood of the house or something. Then someone decided to make smilies for them.

Tada. Kolobok is born. I noticed that some shoutboxes use kolobok and e107/phpnuke uses them too.

I really doubt Invision would care. I've seen invision free sites, and the smilies are different from the ones your using, which means you uploaded these yourself, which probably means I only have to ask you.
Thanks a lot tongue.gif

Yah, I found Kolobok; Oh, I remember.. There's a russian childrens tale called 'kolobok', its similar to the gingerbread man. (just an interesting fact). In the end the kolobok got eaten by the wily fox.

That's not what it means, if that was true we would technically belong to SEN.

Alot of places use the exact or close to the same smilies(like others have said befor). So you can say you saw them other places, or I would do what you're doing... wait. I can make you smome free one if you want.

I made this one a long time ago. For anyone who wants it it's free.[attachmentid=16048]

As long as you don't make money off of it, you're good to go.

You may be banned from SEN, but as far as legal problems go, no worries.
