Can anyone think of an Artillery feature that doesn't just use one location at a time, but is mobile with the player's unit? It's for my map I'm making.

Artillary that follows someone using more than one location

If you ever played siege of sithrarion they have a tank follow a battlecruiser where the bc is the "center of the catapult" and the tank is the catapult. I think it works really well, you just use move loc on bc and make sure to put a small wait so that the tank doesn't slow down the bc even more.

Yeah, It crossed my mind, like the Grond Idea in the White Tower. But I need artillery to fire around several locations surrounding an observer, without 1,000,000 triggers and locations.

Why not just make a mobile grid with air units instead of using ground units?

It seems acceptable in this situation... artillery that is.

I agree with using a mobile grid. Maybe like a 5x5 mutalisk grid. (thats 25 spaces, not overly complicated nor too small) Then you center locations in each of those spaces, and do stuff to enemies brought inside them.

Actually, that was how an old vision system I made a while back worked. I made it so that units could fire from inside a tank, virtually. So that what you saw on the outside of the tank you saw inside the cockpit of it. (which was made from terrain elsewhere) I should try to find that sometime, it had some fun aspects to it.

Thanks, I'll try it

Or you could just use overlords and center locations on it so you have a 8 directional movement?
