I'm trying to learn how to make signatures, and I have the background part down. But how do I take a part of another image to use as a render? Thank you.
I have Jasc PSP 9 and Adobe Photoshop 9 CS. I used Jasc for background.
Use bezier paths, magic wand, or freehand select.
I use nothing but polygon selection tool. Works perfectly. Maybe a toucup with 1 px eraser.
its dont with long timing... usally render are pretty easy.. you cut out the outside part unneeded one really fast.. then it takes time... to cut out little stuff by little... or if its a really nicley already done picture you just use like magic wand and etc... which works in a flash... but usally if its basicly decent cut then you can pretty much make a sig with it.. becuase with all thoes overlay and other effects you put most of the time.. and blending it you cant tell difference.. but share to other people and say oh i made a great render then uhh you should take time on that lol
i have ps 7 and so far ive found no differences to cs 2... so wtf?
renders < magic wand

You have no experience rendering.
There are many differences between 7 and cs2, mainly new filter features and added sharpness control.
*cough*
most of the tutorials ive seen on cs 2 dont include any new filters. infact all.
does cs 2 require xp to run?
well im taking a class on graphics and we just got cs2 about a month ago. the new things are like:
selecting multiple layers
red eye tool
color changing brush
uh.... yeah i dont really know what else there is... i dont think theres much of a change
The rendering in Microsoft Paint is actually easy, have a color to use as a background, zoom in the picture x8, and remove pixels by pixels with a pencil. A harder way but yet faster would use the other cutted features, if you want to know if you rendered it okay at one spot and another, unzoom it. I'm actually rendering a real life Spartan 117 picture too!
I use the polygonal selection tool, like Syphon, I can cut out any render perfectly. Finish it up with some touch-ups and the cutout is flawless.
I dare you to present me with any render that is "impossible to cut out". =)

Color change is in 7.
@:@, try chewbaca and save it as a .gif. Gonna be one hard long night for you.
CS2 can use brushes from CS2 or less and 7.0 and cant use CS brushes or CS2 brushes. Theirs new things on cs2 called smart objects, a perspective based editor , a adobe bridge next gen file browser, multiple layer control, image warp, ect.. click
here for the rest
and when you do things manipulating layers like bevel and emboss it doesn't make them a layer mask.
What about cutting out renders by Microsoft Paint?
It's time consuming and givin the choice I use Photoshop.
It's not time consuming if you cut it right.
