Staredit Network -> Serious Discussion -> How has technology affected your life?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-12-16 at 21:23:16
Do you think you would be any different without your computer? What would you spend your time doing? Would your social life change drastically? Think about it without this instrument, you would have never found everyone at SeN, or even played starcraft.

What about a cell phone. (for those who have them.) Would your social life change these things had never been invented?

Mp3 Players are major things in society today as well... Would you act any different without your music?

People have changed since the dawn of the computer age, and have become increasingly busier with life. Even today we are going through a rebirth of this change as the world becomes wireless. Are people actually able to accomplish more with these new technologies? Or are they simply new complexities added to our already complex lifestyle?

Cell phone is probably most important to me. It gives my family members and friends a way to talk to me while Im not at home and it has emergency values as well.

I think I would be more outdoorsy without tech.

I would kill myself without technology crazy.gif

Honestly, I wouldn't want to be alive at any other time. I love technology because it helps me accomplish my goals. The things I want to do would be near impossible at my current age had I been born 10 years or more earlier (maybe even 5!)

[center]The world would still be in the dark ages without technology.
If all our tech junk was taken away, most people wouldn't know what to do all day.
It would really suck, information would be much harder to get. People would be harder to reach, things would take a lot longer to get done. We'd probably end up becoming cave men.

Technology has done two things:

1. Introduced me to Starcraft (Blessing and Curse)
2. Introduced me to SEN (Curse and Blessing)

actually technology is everything that man has made.

1 a. The application of science, especially to industrial or commercial objectives.
b. The scientific method and material used to achieve a commercial or industrial objective.

2. Electronic or digital products and systems considered as a group: a store specializing in office technology.

yeah... so basically wed all be dead without it tongue.gif

This topic, I must admit, is kinda retarded. Without technology I'd be freezing my ass off around a fire in a cave. Sure my life would be different.

If this was the 1950s, I'd have no idea who you all are happy.gif

Duh people's lives have been changed by techonology.

If you lived 70 years into the future, you would be gliding along the streets in your brand new hover car and using telephones that were built into your brain, heck, you can watch tv just by thinking about it. Skies the limit.

Technology is life it seems. Its really a bad thing as well. We have lost all our morals.

How hasn't technology affected us? We take it for granted, and we probably wouldn't be able to survive without technology since we take it for granted so much.

Tell me, how do you act when there is a power out?

Then again, technology does not need to run life as is. It only makes life better... humans have lived before technology... think about that for a moment.

Another reason... I can't STAND it when women don't shave their legs. It's like having a cactus rub up against your side... ARGH! I'd hate to live in a time when women's legs were just as hairy as mens.

Uh, Technology is very broad. There is food technology, electronics, fabrics technology, resilient materials technology and many many more. Without technology is just basically the non-existence of every invention - even the clothes that cavemen 'inventend/designed' and the bonfire they made use of.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Centreri on 2005-12-19 at 15:43:12
It all depends what you think of as 'technology'..
Creation of unnatural objects, humans would be wiped out. Our ancestors wouldn't be able to make spears to hunt, traps to hunt, etc. We wouldn't had been able to crack the annoying ice to get to the cold water wink.gif

If you think of it as more recent, such as computer, cell phone, etc, as I am quite sure you meant it, then I would probably be one of the most 'advanced' people at school, if there would be a school. I would be considerably more athletic, though from that will probably come increased stupidity.

The world itself, without technology, would benefit greatly. Think of global warming, pollution, extinct animals, etc. All that would probably be fine again, as nature intended.

Even though I would probably be healthier and more athletic and popular if there was no computer, cell phone, etc, I would want computers to have been invented nevertheless. It would would probably be described as pride; I can do things on the computer that classmates don't know can happen, (and also in math class wink.gif )
and even though I'm not first in everything it gives me a sense of superiority.
But I doubt you care, so I'll continue with the topic.

In conclusion, if there was no technology of all we would be dead, and if it was more recent, (and its impossible to make technology stay on one level, unless we knew everything)then I would be less happy, more like everyone else, animals would not be extinct, and the earth would survive much longer then it will otherwise.

If it wasn't for technology... the world would be soo boring. But then again... without tech. there wouldn't be as much wars and battles and deaths every year.
No TVs? Boredom
No Computers? Boredom
No Hand-Held Systems? Boredom
No MORE Nuclear Devices? More Peace and Less Destruction
No MORE Biological Weaponry? More Peace and Less Deaths

I want fire, dead babies, and dead babies on fire. Also, if my food doesn't have nuke.gif some where on the container, I ain't eating it. Radioactivity is good for you. Take the Hulk for example.

It sure has, since the Ipod came out, everyone at school has been sneaking it with them and listen to music almost 24/7 hell, I'm one of those people too, and hell without that I'll be getting better grades than B+. Nowadays wherever I go I always have my Ipod with me and at night I make sure it's charging when my brother gets on the computer. And also computers are starting to affect some of my friends' life, my old best friend doesn't like leaving his house now since he got a farking high speed computer now, so high technology has affected my life.

definitely computer. The technology is like magical drug; makes you addicted to it. And unfortunately, I cant function without playing games when i can for at least 2 days. I go nuts... But, I dont have cell phone, have already bad social life, and is a mean friend, so I wouldnt even bother talking about cellphone. Summing it up, technology affected how i act, eat, sleep, think, and wear.
