I personally believe that we will see a spike in attacks and violence, but soon the insurgency will begin to decrease do to more Iraqis giving their new government information on possible terrorist locations. The Iraqis are also getting better and better at protecting their borders in which is one of the major reasons why the insurgency has lasted for so long.
I believe in the coming months that United States soldier amounts in the region will slowly decrease becuase of the Iraqis being able to protect them selfs. I also feel that the only way we are going to lose this engagement is if we lose at the home front. American soldiers can't lose on the ground in Iraq, it all depends on the people here at home.
I'm hoping the violence will decrease and the insurgency realize they can get their voice heard more effectively through democracy than violence.
I'm skeptical though.
It'll stay the same, at least for a bit. Though, it must be said most violence occurs with bombs and mines, not guns.

It will increase some as the government shakily gets on it's feet and then go down after it gets stronger.
Or, they will succeed and anarchy will rule. Then nuclear will be happy.

Mmmhmm...
Basically, they're going to try to increase their attacks to try to bring down their newly formed government, and when that fails, the violence will slowly die out.
I knew you'd like that
Also, if another arabic country gets involved, things are going to get hairy.
Hmm...
Eventually it will end. But I can't be the one to say when. Have the results for the polls come back? I think that would make a large difference in what happens.
Of course if I had my way it would end tommorrow. Then we would all go out for ice cream, and everyone would be smiling.

The violence isn't going down while US troops remain in full force in Iraq. And Bush, it seems, has no plans for getting our troops home.

I agree with you. He is just doing what daddy couldn't.
yeah the iraqi police and millitary are poorly trained... thats our "excuse" for keeping our troops to get blown up in iraq.
i think the violence will stay the same. the leader is UN picked not really what the insurgents want
More americans, percentage-wise, want our troops out of iraq ASAP, than iraqis. If the Iraqis want us to stay, we should stay. Problem is, the people who want the troops out ASAP are much more vocal than those who don't.
If we pull out now, that country will become a mess.
Yes, we should have a slow pull out based on how well the Iraqis work with themselfs. Take it America has exellent military leaders based on years of experience. Iraqis have to create sargeants and generals only in a few years. The next 10 years will be interesting in Iraqi history.
The new government will most likely be corupt. And as time goes on they themselves will make weapons of mass destruction it's a cicle if you ask me
Is that just becuase of the quality of people in the middle east you think?

I agree with BT... All Bush is worried about is finding the insurgents HE'S never going to find because hes not looking hard enough. At this point there's never going to be any troops coming home... just bodies and bit and peices of flesh.

Yes due to most of the population is muslim (nothing against them) just that most of them are osama bin ladin's followers and well he's got allot of money so he "pays" the government so he secretly becomes encharge of them. He starts making weapons of mass destruction which we all now what he will do with. Its an interesting trend, Islam is suppose to be a good religion of care and teaching. But almost every muslem ruler in the middle east either wants to enslave his own poeple for personnal prophet or bring death to the jews.
thats kinna sterotypical dont you think?
pakistani and jordanians are the only ones that have suicide bombings i believe. there may be more from other countries but not in the masses.
this has nothing to do with iraqis voting...
