Yeap, I suppose I'll round out this brief mapping spree of mine (before I get back to my bigger projects) with one final map idea I've had on the back burner and wanted to finally get made: gassers!
Anyhoo, here's the nutshell: each player starts with 3 lives and a defiler. The goal of course is to be the last person left alive. To kill other players, you have to suffocate them in gas (dark swarm) clouds, which gradually and increasingly wear away at their HP, the longer they stay in it. Swarms cost 10 energy per casting, though, but every minute and a half each player spawns a burrowed zergling in the center, which they can use to recover part of their casting energy by consuming. Furthermore, every 20 seconds or so a random item will appear somewhere on the field, just to make things interesting. You'll have to play the map to find out what they are, though.

This is probably my second shortest official map in development time (second to Borrowers, at about one hour total), but thankfully it doesn't show for it. I spent much longer of course testing/playing it at various stages (hence the version number), as I figured I'd rather release a relatively completed product than smaller part-way ones that wear down people's patience to re-download with each new version. P.S. This is also my first official map that uses all player slots for humans, has players with random start locations, is vanilla starcraft compatible, and has all triggers belonging only to All Players. Just a little factoid, in case your interested.
