With the completion of our other side projects and our power defense series drawing near, my team add yet another map to their long list of maps. This one is a Tank Defense. Now I haven't played many tank defense maps myself but I think this one will be pretty original. Each player starts in their own section and commands 10 bunkers(empty). Also they command a barracks,factory, armory and an e-bay. They have the ability to build more tanks, ghosts or marines. When they bring three regular tanks to a region, all three will die and a hero tank takes its place. Also, each player will command 1 scv. These scv's can only build missle turrets. When a player commands a missle turret, it is removed, a cloaked tank with 2 scouges(replenishing scouges) take its place. Now here comes the original part (I think).
Generals:
Each player will start with a first rank general(no stars). After so many kills it will gain a rank. When a general gains a rank, an immobile scouge will be placed over it (to better help others see what rank general he/she has) and the unit will be replaced with a different more powerfull one. Currently there is plans for 6 star generals. 1-5 you get by killing more monsters, but there is a secret you have to find out to be a 6 star general. Players may be able to select what type of general they command.
There are more than 5 "Tank Defence" maps. Are you sure we really need another one?
The answer to that question is simple....YES! I can understand that everyone and their sister makes defense maps. But you gotta take into consideration this: If you have all those '5' tank defense maps and you played/beat them all....would you keep playing them? I hardly think so. This about this logically, if no one ever made another map (defense, bounds, rpg, etc...) made after another...the community would be dead. Some people say....o no, not another defense. But the truth is, defense maps get played to most. If you tell new people 'dont make defense maps' that makes them give up most times. The way I see it is, the more maps we have out there the better the community will be. Even if they are the same map done a million different ways.

Um, no, that will make people:
1: Keep on playing the classics!
2: Get pissed off at the new maps, and then the entire genre, and thus it dies.
If you had a million Tank Defence maps, you wouldn't be able to download anymore maps

I don't subscribe to the "more maps = better" philosophy, myself. I'm more of a "more quality maps = better" man.
Well, I must admit, the idea's atleast original.
Well, some of the ideas included within it, atleast.
You will make it a defense where you have to build a maze with your units, RIGHT?!
If you don't, the map will suck. Maybe not in the opinion of the community, but, hey, the community sucks.
But then, so does myself...
