Can a hallucinated unit be kept alive for an unlimited amount of time? Basically is there a way to set the timer to a stand still/ make it negative...
Yes or no.
If yes, how?

isnt it the energy?

Not really, it may say it's energy but it really isn't, you can't modify the amount of energy it has to make it last forever.

To my knowledge, this isn't possible.

According to http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=31

All you need to do is create a broodling with no properties attached in game??. That's it? Or is it just being vague...? Anyways, don't hallucinations run under the same kind of system used for broodlings? Well of course! Hallucination is a property! If there was a possible way to create a unit that is hallucinated without using "Create Units With Properties", then it might work. But I think that is also impossible. Also, if you tried to "make" a unit hallucinated blink.gif ... I don't that is possible either..or is it?

One thing you could do would be to immediately replace the hallu'd unit with another one when it dissapears. You could time it and move it to a seperate area to avoid the death animation showing up and use hyper triggers so players wont notice.

That'd really only work well for two or three...more than that and trigs are both very complex and tangled.

I asked about negative mineral values and I was told that you could only set them to between 0 and 65536, so I don't think you can make hallucinations negative amounts to last forever. I haven't done much other testing with them, so I wouldn't know. I think basically any spell that effects something's status will make a hallucination disappear. I guess that trigger thing would work, but I don't know if that's really the effect you're looking for.

Resoucres are an unsigned integer, but I dunno what the hallucination counter is.
