Hmm... This might seem a little drastic, but how about SEN provide SCU purely to the highest-ranking members? There's a link on [a website] so it's not off limits to some n00blars.
However, there's also toGi protector, StarForge protector, and the new PROEdit that Clokr_ might make, which are still off-limits to SCU. However, every map has an unprotection. StarCraft needs only a couple of sections to run the map, the rest are purely for StarEdit. StarForge and SCMDraft require less accurate sections to run than StarEdit, but they still need more than StarCraft.
SCMDraft, however, could run any map with its vital sections perfectly, but SI made it so that it doesn't ignore "impurities" within maps (to respect map protection/disallow n00bs from getting in protected maps). The same could be said with GUEdit.
I have an extremely ambitious idea:
Perhaps, as a major project, some person with sufficient programming skill (I would say Heimdal but he's already left the community, or maybe Clokr_) could create a StarCraft map editor with its own, completely different map format than that of StarCraft. This could be used purely as a mapmaking tool in order to share map secrets with fellow mapmakers without letting them take credit for anything on Bnet. There could also be a converter that converts maps from the normal format to the "new" format that lets people see how triggers work, etc... This converter should be able to convert even protected maps, so that people could see their questions like "in this map, blah blah blah" answered.
HOWEVER, there should be
no deconverter, which converts the "new" maps to their original counterparts, because we don't want to steal people's credit for making maps that they put their hard work into.

Sure, it's a very crazy idea, but if it gets completed, the whole "unprotection" issue could be solved, and SEN will get its name sweeped even further into the StarCraft hall of fame (aka get much more popular). As lazy as I am, I could even help with some of the coding.
