I prefer SCMDraft just beacuse it is much, much easier to use.

It's all opinion, I'd say try them both out get a feel for which one you like better for what. I will say that it is general opinion that StarForge sucks at making ISOM terrain.

SCMDraft 2, because it has the whole copy/paste system, plus SCMDraft is mainly for terrain

i'd say use scmdraft 2 for isom, then use sf for extended, then get a feel for the different trigger systems, and use the one u prefer

Starforge for the whole!

I don't trust starforge. Seems like a risky program for some reason...

YoShi-M it's customary to say that what you said is your opinion, not fact. I still think it's totally based on which one you feel more comfortable with. I personally prefer SF's tile palette and it's rectangular terrain editor. I use X-tra for triggers and SCM Draft 2 for ISOM terrain and melee maps, so yeah. I wouldn't suggest you using X-tra for triggers, I use it simply because it was the only editor out that would support triggers when I started doing triggers (except Staredit), so now I'm fairly comfortable with X-tra and not so much with other editors.

ya... whatever u do, do not use SF for your ISOM, it will absolutely completely fuk it up beyond repair

The bad thing about Starforge is that you can't undo what you did on the extended terrain. On SCMDraft2 you can go back and undo your mistakes.

what u mean u can't undo it???

Right click, undo. Let's say you make a mistake in Starforge cuz u accidently placed the wrnog tile from palette. Oops, too bad. Gg. No rm.

[sub]You can undo in SF, just a single tile at a time. :/[/sub]

If i recall, you can only do that w/ units...

actually, the undo button in my SF works like a charm, well... on my good computer...

Starforge chrashes for some weird reason randomly. So SCMDraft is better since it won't crash often.

*checks starforge* holy crap, it DOES work. Then wut the hell was that thing you COULDN'T undo?

Nothing...

It's just that when you place a brush, it undoes 1 at a time.

Actually, I take that 1 by 1 tile undoing as a feature. It's useful if you want only a half of a brush.

i love using SF, but i do have to admit it has ALOT of kinks to work out,i mean ALOT, like if you put terrian off the map, it crashes and if you didnt save your farked, and sometimes if you do sumthin wrong it wont open your map in SC, it says it has an Error or sumthin, so i would say use SF with CAUTION! For beginners i would recemend X-Tra and for the blending i would recemend SCMDraft.
