Can anyone think of a way to make a Sprite boss with a virtual HP system?

Doesn't even need a virtual HP system, you can put a burrowed unit for a neutral player (that you would be unallied to) and you would have to kill the burrowed unit to kill it. It's attacks would obviously have to be spells since it can't have sprites move (to simulate actual attacks) without extended actions.

Are you referring to EUDs or just complex trigs?

You could make a thingy that there is the boss in the middle of the "Arena" or whatever you like and then just make invincible pylons, and let the boss spit out any kinda monster or unit you want. Then when the player has killed those units you can have it attack a pylon for him to lose a "life".

Then another sequence starts and you repeat the process but with different actions, such as dodge the explosion could be one sequence, or kill those units before the timer runs out or else you lose life (only virtual) and so on.

Yes, I mean EUDs or whatever other extended actions might do this, I say extended actions since there are more things than just extended unit deaths (but their actions were patched also, so don't get excited).
