Before hand I thought the little percent next to participation made sense. But it doesn't make sense at all. KiLLeR2001 has made 2 posts in the last 3 months and he has 21%. How does that add up?

I think it all adds up to how much you post, you post(ed) a lot then it takes a while to lower itself.

I don't even know. That's sad. tongue.gif

I've lost a twentieth of my marketshare and still my participation is 100%.

Beats me.

I think it's how much you post?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Red2Blue on 2005-12-31 at 04:44:28
I posted a few billion quality posts and my participation barely moved up a little percentage.

Maybe its the varying types of areas you post in, oh oh no wait, I posted in every single section already.

Maybe its how long you are actively logged on? Oh no no wait, I keep mine logged on for hours.

I guess participation magically appears from no where. It poofs too.

I think your PPD (posts per day) has to factor is there somewhere. Yours is only 0.8.

But still, it is very confusing.

I've been trying to figure mine out forever.
I think i'm onto something though...

*Hmmm*

I think it may be your posts by day, moved over one decimal place to the right, and doubled, and maybe rounded up or down one.

So far everyone i've checked, that's the case.

Ex. my PPD Is 1.1

Move over the decimal you get

11

Multiply that by two you get...

22

Then it either gets rounded one up or down or stays where it is so my possibilities are....

21,22,23

In my case it's 21 (As of this post).

I would guess it's something like your_posts_per_day/all_topics_per_day or something.

Shorty wins. It's twenty times your Posts Per Day, capped at a maximum of 100. May PPD is still over 6, so no wonder mine hasn't gone down.

So it's, solved?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Doodan on 2005-12-31 at 13:50:05
I think Shorty's right too. I have 2.34 posts per day. 20 times that equals 46.8 (approximately 47) which is what my participation level is at this exact time.

Ahh thats cool mine is at 100%...

Wow... 3.2 PPD x 20 = 64% It works! One of the greatest mysteries of SEN has been solved. ohmy.gif

It needs to be x a much smaller #...I'd say three, given the averages for the most active memberz.

I wonder...

I guess he figured it out

*applaudes* smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

It even works with mine: I became a member December 30th, 2004...

I didn't post a damn thing until yesterday...

my ppd of 0.01 multiplied by 2 gives you 0.02

round that...so i get 0%!! (with no hope of ever changing wink.gif )

Finally, somebody figured it out. Most of the time me and Yoshi talked about we thought it was bugged because sometimes you would be inactive for 2 months and still keep your 100%.

Thanks Shorty.

Wow...Mine is about 3 PPD...Then 30...Then 60...Participation is 60%...Good job shorty. I wouldn't even have known that. disgust.gif

Yeah, No problem, but, I don't see any need for this topic to still be open.
