Report, edit, etc...Posted by stevitis on 2005-12-31 at 13:57:11
Hello I'm new to these forums but I think this place is great! A lot of my questions have been answered just by reading the tutorials posts, but I have some questions that I could not find the answers to:

Is it possible to place player 13+ units w/o crashing sc (both pre-placing and ingame creation), and if so, how?

Is it possible to edit upgrade, tech settings, and colors for Player 13+?

Why does starforge randomly place "<[some number]>" tags on the end of random things when I save it? This happens to me for location, unit, player names, strings, and even trigger comments!

Thanks very much in advance

i'm not sure about 13+ player units... but if u can place them i don't think u can change its settings at all

i've never heard about "<[some number]>" randomly being placed before, however i'd try deleting starforge then re-downloading a newer version

Yes, you just have to know which units to place. Generally, these players are unstable or have other effects, because their placement affects memory in SC.

Not directly. A lot of research might uncover something, which will last unti lthe next patch. tongue.gif

I only notice these in SCMD2. I always thought it was an SCMD2 problem. Maybe it IS StarForge after all.

Oops, sorry I didn't know.

Thanks for the help. I guess I'll be playing around with this for a while. biggrin.gif

Also I think you are right moose, i think it is scmdraft that's causing the problem, not starforge.

The text trigger editor of scmdraft mostly messes up things, at least for me it did >.< but i neeeded it for putting switch names... as classic editor didn't...

Editing extended player's death counts (EUD's for short) have been patched, so I wouldn't try playing around with that at all. These can still be used in conditions, however.

Actually placing p13+ stuff can have effects as well, though, even though not as drastic as EUDs. These include addition to supply min, max, and speeding up the game speed.

SCM Draft makes those numbers only when things are conflicting it happens alot with me, if you have a unit name, location, comment, switches, text, or anything that is has the same name, SCM Draft will automaticly put those numbers there to help prevent conflicts, it doesnt always help tho

So if your seeing alot of those numbers you just might have something that is named the same
