Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> [SOLVED] Slowing Air Units

I know that moving a burrowed unit under another unit will slow it down, but will the same thing happen for an air unit?

I tried testing this, but the results were ... inconclusive. The locations just doesn't want to follow the valkyire for some reason

an observer will make any ground unit slower (i think. also notice that i am not a good thinker) but it should. it did for me...
Addition: misunderstood your question...

Trigger
Description:
lock on valk
Players:
¤ whoever 1 player only is better
Conditions:
¤ always
Actions:
¤ centered location on valk owned by player at anywhere (instead of anywhere u can use a location that allows both air and ground levitations)
¤ create 1 zergling with properties (burrowed)
¤ remove 1 zergling at location
¤ preserve

think thats right. Hyper triggers recommended for better preformance. and instead of createing and removing you can just create one somewere and use the move unit to location instead

okay, i just tested this with valks using both burrowed lings and observers and they didn't slow the valk down at all(heck, i think it made it a little faster). So, can i conclude this doesn't work with air units or does someone know something else that can work?

I just spent a good 5 minutes or so actually making this example in my test map and playing it. I guess I was curious to double check the answer myself, even though it ended up proving what I originally had thought.

I made 2 science vessals, one hero and one non-hero. A burrowed lurker was constantly being moved under the non hero science vessal. In this instance, both vessals traveled at exactly the same speed.

Based on this, I would also guess that air units being centered on ground units would also not slow them down, but I am not going to bother to test that.

I hope this was what you were looking for smile.gif

EDIT: saw you post after I did, I had my window open from when I originally saw it.

I do not believe there is a way to slow down an air unit, besides choose a slower air unit and force the valk to constantly be moved to that unit tongue.gif

Doesn't it even say in the tutorial that it will only work for ground units? http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=66
Hence the tutorial name tongue.gif

well, i was kinda hoping this would work, it'd have been good to be able to add a "speed upgrade" for those units that don't have any, but oh well.
