Storyline

[sub]Story - In August of 2036 the small uninhabited South Pacific island "Holtomãr" was landed on by a band of tech pirates fleeing prosecution in Chile. Shipwrecked and desperate they realised they had stumbled onto one of the most naturally richest areas in the world, and settled down. After several years of experamentation and ingenious scientific breakthroughs they had quickly placed themselves on the map as a legitimately recognized independant state. After discovery a small uranium deposit on a smalller island slightly south of the now flourishing Republic of Holtomãr, a controversially uranium mine was developed. Which ultimately led to disaster. In 2041 a freak accident created a massive explosion at the mine site desimating the southern Island and a small part of a forest on the "mainland."

After several more incidents that slightly angered the UN most of the Islands population had fled, chased away by mutant creatures, disaterous conditions, and a conspiracy that threatened to consume them all. The remaining people were left to defend for themselves alone. You are one of those unfortunants.
[/sub]

Features

  • At least 3 types of XP, Alignment, Strength, and Skill.

  • Super interactive landscapes and buildings. (Think triggering nuclear explosions by
    attacking in the wrong area.)

Details

All speculation, but you can help add in this thread!.

Now comes the fun part, you people get to help me out. I need suggestions for weapons, items, names of the heroes. (Or if they should be generic, you name it.)

~

I'll be working on promotional artwork soon enough, going to start the actual non experimental triggering once terraining is semi-done.

[sub]Disclaimer: as I may not finish this map, as I am prone to do I would LIKE someone to steal my idea.[/sub]

Here's an idea,

Don't make that so hard to read

Weapons: Laser rifle - Dragoon
M16 Carbine - Marine
M16A2 Carbine - Marine with some kind of grenade launching system
M4A1 - Ghost
Kitchen Knife - Zealot
Uber ninja of doom! - Dark Templar with some kind of kunai/shuriken throwing system.
Sniper - Hero Ghost with longest range (Stukov?) and limited cloak.
Trapper Pirate's vehicle - Vulture with spider mines
That's what I got tongue.gif Anyways, I think the storyline could use some help, as in, make it more detailed, and a little better.

I could read it just fine wink.gif

Anyway if this is a small remote place then I wouldnt see them having m4s or m16s, maybe an ak47

Well when the main inhabitants left they left their weapons on the island. Remeber it's a country founded by tech pirates, they WILL have AK 47s.

//Begun work on control panel.

EDIT- Oh and it's the same size as Valug's posts, so you should be able to read it. Does my production template not LOOK twilighty?

Hmm, what code did you use for the blue, its sexy. And for the weapons, what kind of style are you looking for?

Finished the basic control panel layout.

The idea is that you place items in the slots near the units, when you build the unit the item is used, if you have multiples it reloads.

Should you get both buildings to start, or should one come with skill experience?

Jim Raynor Marine - AK-47
Marine - M4A1 Carbine
Firebat - Flamethrower [ tongue.gif Came up with this one myself ]
Ghost - Pistol
Alexei Ghost - M40 Sniper
Duran - Perazzi MX2000 (Shotgun)
Kerrigan - Bow

If i understand you, you're saying it's like an inventory where you can like ''hotkey'' item by putting in the slot next to the unit. I think you should do it as you level up like, while on the island you could find a better backpack or something like that and that would expand your item hotkey thing to the terran building or w/e you want.

That last part is exactly what I was thiking happy.gif Except it's that you get the ability to hotkey 8 items instead of 4 when your skill XP gets high enough, the ammount of items you can carry is dictated by your strength XP. If you start to carry too much a zergling will slow you down, eventually you can't pick stuff up?

Don't forget to put the Vapor Gun in! Vapor guns are must-haves in games like these.

Yes, but I've run into a problem. There is NO way to do stacked cliffs in twilight. (I don't mean double high dirt, I mean high dirt that is coloured low.) So I'm switching the project onto badlands. May God have mercy on my soul.

I'm reformating this map as some of my ideas have been altered. I won't remake the thread until I'm further along.
