Wow i just looked at the ladder. Tell me when Chrono Trigger gets Matched up with StarCraft so i can vote for Chrono Trigger. But i suspect Mario 3 will beat it. In fact i would think it would win the whole thing.

Edit: Holy crap i just realized they were talking about Super Smash Bros. MELEE. As in the Game Cube version. I was thinking the N64 version the whole time.

As of right now SC is losing, I really dont see whats so great about SSBM, SC is a much better game

We may be losing, but we've made comebacks all the time with like 5,000 votes. We've done it once, we can do it again.

Most of the gamers dont get on the websites until tonight anyway. Thats where SEN's peak hits come from

PS: What do you mean, you don't see what's so special about SSBM? You've clearly never played the game...

The problem is all of those GameFaqs members who are bitter that their favorite games lost to StarCraft. They're voting for SSBM so they can get a higher percentage on their win lists. StarCraft is dragging just about every GameFaqs member's list down.

Thats why starcraft owns all the other games so much

I highly doubt that it didn't make since. I said "vote for whatever you like best" because it's kind of wrong to tell other people what to vote for (especially if they like SSMB better, well it's their choice). I sensed that I would get flamed for doing that, so I didn't subjectively tell other people what to vote for.

Also, I've never owned Super Smash Brothers Melee ("SSBM": I suspected most of the people here knew already since they've looked at the brackets before. I've managed to figure it out on my own, so I don't know why you can't), but I've played it. Ehh... I like StarCraft better.

Final note: I think the spell checker isn't very accurate. It really does a poor job at correcting. For example, it tries to correct words that start with "sen" based on syllables that go after "sen".

why do these votes matter so much to u all? realize that all those people who voted for SSBM probably never played starcraft, and voting doesn't necessarily get more people to buy the game that was voted for. of course, if u flip the philosophy over, i never played SSBM, so of course i would vote for starcraft. in the end though, i dunno why these two are being compared, aren't they totally different genres and platforms?

It's voting for the best game ever, and that mean it spans all genres.

Yes, I have played them both, and I know it would be a really tough battle to get through SSBM, but what are we up against next? What, we're up against FF7. And then It's Crono Trigger or Mario 3. In the end, it's going to be hard to win.

Of course,if we get in the Asia server and then tell those Korean fans to vote, we're almost guaranteed a win.

The Genres are so diffrent, it's like worlds colliding. Of course, you know which game is better. The 8 year old game is still selling while melee is just clinging on. Of course, there are more fans though, but we have Koreans to influence.

I'm afraid that's false. SSBM is still selling as well as Starcraft. SSBM has a lot of replay capabilities as well as Starcraft.

No Starcraft does well because the players form a community. Much more so than Console games. When starcraft is put on the poll all these Blizzard fan sites Like SEN and Blizzforums instruct everyone to vote for Starcraft. How many large sites can you think of that are dedicated to Super Smash Melee that have thousands or even hundreds of hits a day.

Starcraft directs alot more bias votes.

think about it: there's no "Starcraft 2", but SSBM... you know what I mean? BECAUSE starcraft is truly one-of-a-kind, we can devote more of our time into playing and loving Starcraft and Starcraft only, instead of spreading it out with all those Nintendo frenzies.

Thats because we're more popular Bolt, SC has so much support.

Ah well. I actually dont care who wins. It won't make me hate starcraft and it won't change starcraft from being the best damn game ever.

The splash page was just an excuse to test my coding and integration. Invision board guys like to hardcode a lot of things, but I managed to get it working.

There's no shame in supporting the community by placing the splash on the frontpage. And there's definitely no shame in challenging yourself to make it work. Congratulations!
