I was thinking about a new fun activity we could have here at SEN. Maybe under communication or games, there could be a "Captionization!" (Need a new title) button. When you enter, there is a gallery of crazy/weird/funny pictures. They have no description, what so ever. That job is yours! Let's say we have this picture:
user posted image
You look at it, and type your caption:
Example: "Tom and Jerry: SNIPERS! Edition."[/lame]

You would then submit it, your name would appear next to the caption under the picture with everyone elses, and maybe a rating option from 1-10 or something?

So, I don't know anything about coding, but I do know the layout in my mind.
So, from the homepage SEN or anywhere, access the game/community(?) tab, go to "Captionization!" Then, you would get a group of pictures. Select one, and you have the picture maximized (Not taking up the screen, just as big as like 1/4 of your screen). There are a list of captions with the peoples names and ratings, and a submit box at the bottom to submit your own. Maybe an option to anonomysize it.

If you guys want to add, I can find a bunch of pictures and give them to moose/whoever.
Considerate it though, but if you think it's a bad idea, moose/whoever, then don't add it smile.gif. I've seen it at a VERY old website like 4 years ago, and it was so popular and fun.

Just thought we needed something fun to do in our spare time, other ways to socialize other then the forums smile.gif.

Maybe this could be added for v5
I don't know how it exactly works, but it sounds pretty fun if you can supply pictures.

Couldn't you just post this in the null section? People already do stuff like this all the time. Its really old actually. Post your desktop, post your picture, rate my picture, how will the person above you die, forum post battle... all seem to come back once in a while and have the same fun value as your idea.

But.. the rating system, and the instant factor. :\

You can always add that later in the Null post, you never know. You can make one huge thing on it or something. Yaddayadda.

I don't see anything wrong with that and it should be extremely easy to code, heck I think I can code it if I learned a few things about mySQL. The only problem that I would see is bandwith. Having thousands of people (we get about 300+ members per day + guests) look at lots of pictures each day might be hard on the bandwith. That and we would have to enforce heavy moderation on that. We would have to restrain ourselves from putting an Edit feature so that nobody edits an approved picture and puts something not allowed.

I call being moderator. *wink*
(something everyone will begin to start posting: beginning now).

You can always restrict the image size to a very small image, like how Merrell did. Thats probably 125px*125px yet its easily rated. Sure the bandwidth adds up, but its better then a 500px*500px right?

The image size restriction would be nice, and heck we could go for atleast a few months with nothing but my MSN avatars. (As I have demonstarted to Merrell.)

Was that really a necassary post? Actually, don't answer, as it will just result in more spam..

The images will be compressed by a lot, since they aren't quality value. I will probably either .gif or .png them or something.

What the heck was the point of addressing it if you don't want spam? Are you going to ruin this thread too?

It doesn't matter what format the file was written in, its dependant on the color depth and pixel amount (the only exception is .BMP, which its size is dependant on the amount of total pixels).

Kind of like that, that's how I would have it, just have a picture of the week, each person pays 20 minerals to place their caption, and the leading caption gets the jackpot at the end of the week, and the new picture of a week is posted up there. And it only shows the past 5 winners, this is probably the most ideal, non-bandwith sucking way to do it.

Actually, I was kind of thinking no minerals involved what so ever so anyone can play.

The weeks part is alright I guess. But after they go, you can still view them and add comments. Like a big directory of the pictures you can just go to and rate, and a "this weeks picture" one at top.

Noone will play if it involves using minerals you would need to do like your same ideda but it resets itself daily to avoid the high bandwith on it

Where are the mods man. I wanna see how far this idea will go. The mods already said it would be easy to code. So what now?
