Hello thanks for the help last time.. Im still updating my game but.. I am wondering how you would allow attack or armor upgrades..? I cant seem to find any way, there seems to be no trigger for that, but I know people do it.. somehow.. anyway any help would be appreciated, thanks.
If your wondering what I mean, for example I would want all a players marines to get +2 to attack and +1 to amour at 10000 points
By the way I tried to use the search feature but it did not work. Thanks.
You can't use triggers to automatically give unit upgrades.
You can, however, give the player resources and upgrade buildings and hope for the best.
yeah, Or you can use Xtra edit and upgrate them manually or using trigers for the mins..etc.. So i think if you have to do that you mgiht as well change your map around

.
How is that? I have a game where you have an Engineering Bay and you can upgrade you marines attack and amour like 100 times, from the cost of 0 to like 2000, it keeps going.. how do they do that? Because from the settings commands I can only add up to the normal 3 upgrades for attack and amour and cannot change the cost of them. How do change it then? Thanks.
Use an advanced editor like SCMdraft or StarForge. Then you can set upgrades up to 255.
Hey, you can change the time cost, mineral cost and gas cost for any of the upgrade you want. In star campign editor's scenario menu select Upgrade settings. Here you can change the all of these thing with setting the base and the factor setting. The max upgrade are 3 for more upgrade you have to use some other editer such Xtraeditor.
Using a non-vanilla editor such as StarForge or SCMDraft will allow you to make each upgrade be researched up to 255 times.
You cannot, however, use triggers to force a research.
Not sure if I should assume you know this.. but for how much the upgrade cost increases, this would be the "factor" variable in the Upgrade Settings; it goes up by this much each time.
You change the min/max upgrades in the "Player Settings" area, not "Upgrade settings," as this would pertain to each player instead of an attribute of the actual upgrade.
If the player levels, use a trigger based on the level to always set minerals to 1. Then 2, then 3, etc. Make each upgrade cost 1 + 1, this way the max they can hit is their current level, because they won't get more than the cost.
That would only restrict the player's ability to upgrade, then again, you cannot force a player to upgrade something, when there's a bunch of other upgrades that can be upgraded at the same time. If EUD were here.... it would be a different story;;
Yeah, it restricts them from upgrading past his level. From what I see, this is what he wants, and its pretty close to forcing an upgrade.
True, its a sound plan... until something goes wrong.
You could always remove upgrade buildings or give them away if the player decides to get crafty.
You never know, he may have a use for minerals and gas beyond upgrading.
