I say screw all those confusing and vague terms like RPG, action, adventure and whatever crap the media uses. My system is far more simpler and can apply to every game.
You can divide games into four categories: statistic, reflex, logic and luck.
Statistic games are determined by, well, whoever has the best statistics. You pit a level 10 pikachu against my level 85 pikachu, I will win because of my better statistics.
Reflex games are determined by how well the player reacts to a situation physically. This can be aiming for the head in CS, matching arrows in DDR or steering carefully in Forza.
Logic games are games that require logical choices to succeed. These include games like chess, starcraft and age of empires.
Luck games are just that, about luck. There is no focus on reflexes, logical thinking or statistics. These games include coin flipping, dice rolling or card drawing.
Games can have categories that bleed into each other. For instance, micro, a reflex attribute is a factor in victory in Starcraft. However, there are situations where micro does not work.
If you match a zealot against mutalisk, the mutalisk CAN beat the zealot, while the zealot can NOT beat the mutalisk. It would then take logical thinking not to make zealots against mutalisks.
Therefore, a game can have multiple categories or just one, but whatever category appears to be the focus, that's how a game should be labeled.
I like Logic games, because they make me have to think about the next move I'm going to make, and what the effects of my move are.
Logic for the win!
Only because I'm a big strategy fan. Too bad my micro is sub par --;
Reflex, beacuse that seems closest to action games.
Reflex/Logic aka Quake/CPMA
reflex...More my style. reflex + logic is better, but mostly reflex. unreal tournament

Used to be all logic games. I didin't play any other games than that. Then recently, I got bored of it so I played more games with reflex, more like First Person Shooters but yeah, I changed a bit.
I like logic/luck games. These would be every board game that uses a dice actively or card games.
Logic is fun because you observe what is happening and you figure out what is the best course of action to do. It makes me feel better than just winning because my opponent is level 2 and I'm level 20 or just because I can move my mouse faster than him. It makes me unique.
Luck is great because RANDOMIZATION. Randomization allows replay value to sky rocket, because every draw in the game will NEVER be the same. It opens more possibilities and outcomes than just predicting what's going to happen.
Anyway, I guess statistics would describe most RPG games. I'm not a real fan of these games because I have to spend so much time getting to a level. I rather have all my gear with my such with any other category.
I guess luck games are amusing, but they really don't involve the player. I guess you could play flip the coin with yourself...
reflex...nothing beats a good game of hockey(aka NHL 2006)
I love how in this game you have to make ticket prices and stuff like that in dynasty mode. and then you can do fantasy drafts in season mode...and create your character is sick too. most of all i like the wierd moves you can do in the game O.o
reflex to the win! halo, counter-strike, etc.
Reflex, since I guess Counter-Strike falls into that category... Once on Counter-Strike 1.6 I got banned from a server for having "hacker-like" reflexes.... What a bunch of babys that server was.

it was hard between strategy and reflex. im really good at strategy but for more fun i chose reflex. nothing gets the adrenaline pumping quite like heart pounding games

i like all these types of games, but i find strategy to be easy

i pick logic becuz i kinda have an idea of what it is
i didn't pick reflex becuz a mirror came to my mind and i wouldn't like that in a game

i didn't pick the other two becuz i cannot even remember right now what they were so i bet i don't know what they are about

conclusion logic logic logic becuz it makes u think and it helps you to get smarter lol
hehe corbo... im gonna beat u XD
reflex games need skill, so that's the kind of game for me
for example: observer dodge
im obssessed with that map O.O
fps games are reflex games too
I'm more into reflex I guess, especially since I spend most of my free time playing Metal Slug or Strikers 1999 at my college.
First Person-Shooters... the best, Half-Life 2, F.e.a.r, and Call of Duty Series tying for the best. Got to really pay attention and be quick with the trigger- er, mouse.
I dont like luck games because its frustrating to see that you alwasy lose for somereason. I think reflex games are hard, and yea.
Logic because you can become better than a lot of people in the game if you gain a big aspect on the game. Luck and stats games are not really fair, because it's a 50/50 prob, and is not fair

. Games like diablo, in a way.. require luck and logic. but mostly logic.
