Try to do something that hasn't been done already. There are a great many defence maps out there where you sit there while your units shoot at the enemies. If you really want to make a defence map like that, that's fine; you just have to do it well enough that it can compete with all those other maps, and that means lots of defence unit balancing, hours of level tweaking, a track that makes the game interesting (and oh, how I hate air defenses, where there's little or no focus on making a formation), and of course, flawlessly working map systems, just to break even, and on top of that, you'll STILL have to add some new feature to lure players away from the maps that they're used to.
Or, you could try and make a different kind of defence, one where the goal is still to stop enemies from going from point A to point B, but how you do that is something other than "Watch the units shoot the enemies". This approach will take more work, yes, but you'll have a far more interesting finished project. Of course, the first approach, done right with some good new features, will be more interesting than the second approach done with something boring, and has the advantage of being more familiar to new players, so if that's how you're more comfortable making it, then by all means, do it that way. I just thought I'd suggest the possibility that a defence map could be something else.
Okay... I have some ideas like placing a spidermine makes a pylon with a cannon, sieging a tank makes a bunker with some units depending on what you choose and unsieging the herotank makes something else
Btw, it's in the installation terrain so building wont be possible
and it will be ground (already decided)
