anyone here play any of these games?
Bought 2, sold it. Bought 3, sold it.
I liked the graphics because they were clean and they allowed up to 14 players/bots on the screen. The music changes from fast-paced to more dramatic, which I thought was good too.
Uh, I sold the game because even with the challenges, map maker, coop and modes, the gameplay is just to shoot. It just didn't appeal to me like CS did, as the AI just does the same shoot, strafe, roll patterns it always does.
I think I would have kept the game, but the plot just didn't interest me in the way other games grab me like Killer 7 or Half-Life. That's probably the final straw.
There's just little strategy other than spawn, see enemy, aim and shoot. That leads me to say gameplay is repetitive and the plot is terrible.
I keep a game if I like one or the other, or in some cases, both.
Mapmaker was cool though, even though gameplay was still, spawn, find enemy, shoot.
The story mode was too short, but the gameplay was solid. And then there were all the unlockable characters..Oh sweet sweet characters..
It's a good game.
Revenblade, it didn't appeal to you like cs did because of one reason only: cs has a huge cult upbringing. It's played by just every single person online (at one point or another). Id also like to note that cs is just alot more simple to play then ts. You can easily pick it up and play it with ease. Not to mention that cs has a huge slurry of glitches that make the game that much more entertaining and add leagues of strategy. Weapon switching! Id also like to admit that the AI was really retarded. I could literally predict where they would go. They usually roll left (their right side). Sometimes they would roll into a wall like a dumbas$. I just run around with a shotgun and shoot roughly around them (doesn't matter where they go, the shotgun stuns them for some reason and I just run in for a point blank shotgun blast to the head) gg.
The game's story is okay...
The multiplayer mode is pretty amusing and interesting but nothing really stunning. The monkeys were pretty funny.
The game's weapons really blew... some guns were definitely stronger and more powerful then others which brings about silly one weapon usage at all times kind of thing and a "one hit quitter" sorta dealy. Also, no strategy regarding the weaponry. What the hay?!
I REALLY REALLY hated that stupid no jump rule. What's up with that? Jumping is what made travel across so many other shooter game maps so strategic. Jumping in halo1+2 was what made or broke a player. Jumping in cs was so important, leapfrog! Jumping allowed for you to disrupt someone's aim on occasion and really win out using sheer strategy. In ts, all you can do is crouch. This is one of the most disadvantaged positions in any game. Crouching reduces your hit box and compresses every single point on your body into one tight area (this allows a sniper with piercing abilities to hit every single point on your body with one hit and score a headshot without any trouble at all). Not to mention that crouching reduces your speed by 2x in this game. Talk about disadvantage.
The best part of the game:
The statistics at the end that told you how you did and what kind of player you are. I always got most accurate, hoarder, and most professional. My best % hit rate was 99.8%. Rawr.
Orange8purple, I believe the reason CS appeals to me is the difficulty of the human AI versus bots and splitscreen people in TS. I have the cube version so no LAN or internet whatever. When I play with people on TS, it's splitscreen, so you can see what they are doing. Since aiming has no recoil compared to CS, the learning curve is easier.
If ya like the story, well, that's cool. I thought it was cheesy and half-baked, compared to 007 or Perfect Dark, where you had complex turns and betrayals.
Yeah, crouch is lame. I mean if there WAS recoil, there WOULD be a reason to crouch. However, it just makes you slower and your aim is the same as standing. It's a waste of a button.
If you like TS2 and 3, I respect your opinion. I used to be that way until it occured to me that the strength of this game lies in multiplayer and everyone who I played it with thought it was repetitive, which I also thought eventually. There are cool features like mapmaker, lots of bots, lots of modes, but it lacks the element that really made me play 007 or Perfect Dark - an involving plot.
However, that's because I look for plot in my games. If you don't care about plots, then anyone can like this game.

Lol, a waste of a button? Lol... more like they had about 3 dead buttons on the stupid controller. Try pressing some of the buttons during the game. They do NOTHING! The crouch really just tacks on the last nail on the "omg you EA people are idiots" totem.
There is always that silly "built-in" recoil that it has... but it isn't realistic (that aim randomly shifts).
I personally think that cs was the best realistic shooter ever made.
Nothing will come to it's standards.
Even halo will never make it up there.
Unless they decide to add in the realisticness of it all (real recoil erhm).

I LOVE IT!! I think i played the first 1 for gamcube, and me and my friends would put it in the hardest, in Crazy mode with all monkeys Omg it's sooo funny!!. These games are a blast. (single player sux)
I've had TS 2. I sold it after I played it once. It was awful imo compared to the fast-paced shooters out there. Quake 1 had more action than this. >_>
Well, if you played it with friends, and played multiplayer you can't go wrong. yes i agree it's a weird game, but i think it's really fun.
Multiplayer gets a little dry sometimes.
Try setting the game as ffa with bots and human players, main weapon as a shotgun, choose the fastest character and get the speed powerup. Joy to the world...
PFFT. In TS 2, play Capture the Bag, get Crypt/Sewer zombies as enemies and Riot Officers as allies, select the Ice Base stage, get a sniper rifle, and watch the heads fly

Never tried that, but i think i will somtime. I never noticed it either.
To make it fully effective, camp by one of the gun turrets. Ah, the neck snaps..Beautiful neck snaps. I also liked the game challenges
1, 2, and 3! WEWT!! (One of my favorite series.)
Seriously? your favourite.. I admit it's fun but it's not the best.. I would think GTA san angres is also a funny game playing with mult player.. n/m.. Time splitters wins..
TimeSplitters might not be as complex as GTA San Andreas, but at least there's all the characters to be unlocked. And there was barely any blood/terrible gore in the first two TimeSplitters, so that's an up.
To me, models don't matter. Look at Halo or CS. Barely any diversity there, or for most FPS's for that matter. Look at CS: Source, had 1 model for each team for a while, but it was still played. But if you like more models, all the power for you. You could personalize yourself as well.
Blood and gore don't make the game for me either. Blood or not, to me, TS2 and TS3 are virtually the same in terms of gameplay.
You know, I always thought the flame and shock proof ratings of the characters were lame. Why not use something like recoil? Melee damage? Reload speed? Flame and shock aren't even useful if nobody is using those weapons.

One of my favorites. I also like the Metal Gear Solid series, GTA series, and Killzone. That completes my line of great games. I pretty much play each series for a little while and switch to another.
Though TSFP does get repetative to some people, I just make a new map, or play a new type of game on another area and play again. It's just a wee bit repetative, and I dont mind it. Its fun as hell... The only thing I dont like about the new one is the mapmaker, so unadvanced, and not enough space.
Did you notice in the custom maps, you can only have 8 players/bots in TSFP, while in TS2 you can have up to 14? They made an oops.
Probably because the bots are more "complex" in their ai scripts. PFFT. Even though they still die just as easily as in TS2. Joy.
Well, ya know... We all can't be game connoisseurs like you. And we can't all have good enough computers for Counter Strike or Half Life like you. And we all can't have X-Box Live like you.
So some of us just have to settle for some Stone Golem vs 8 Robofish FFA action. Or some hunt some Deerhaunters down in Ice Base with sniper rifles.
And not all of us appreciate Halo 1 & 2, which I might say sucked balls, like you do. Story was better in Time Splitters, made me laugh at times. And I'm a man who appreciates good humor.
