Does anyone here have and play Rome Total War?

Is it good enough to buy? I've heard some good things about it but want more input.

I own the game and it enjoy it very well. It has a very active mod community though most them have moved on to the Expansion.

The game itself is deep but not as deep as Medieval:Total War sadly. The battles are simply amazing specialy if you have a computer that can handle highest settings. The Campaign if playing the long version will take you a good month or two of playing every day for around 1 or 2 hrs. The battles themselves most the time last around 15-30 minutes or longer depending of the size of the forces engaging and if it is a siege or not.

You need a good computer if you don't want lag during the cinematics or having your units run around with pointy feet. I don't own it but during the time I was playing it, it was pretty fun, but the computer I was playing on wasn't that powerful.

I like the game a lot.

Campaign= Very fun for the first time you complete it.

Online Battles= Not to my liking, although that might be because of the community, seeing as I only play with my friends.

The game itself is very good, and as somebody has said before, the mod community is active..

If you are to get this game.. I suggest the Rome Total Realism after you finish the original campaign.

Anyway, I should get to the point.. If you are a fan of war games, or strategy games, you'll find this game pretty fun.

Naw, Total Realism is the bites and buggy. Europa Barbarorum is the best Mod out now though it is just in its beta testing forms within the community. The online battles are only good if its 2vs2 or more. The game is mainly a single player game though.

I <3 RTR, although, it's pretty confusing to learn, and that might discourage some people from playing it -_-
