How do you make it so you can create units without the required pre reqs? Such as Firebats without an acadamy.

Sorry if this sounds like a noobie question, havent worked with mapping for a year and couldnt find the anwer using the search function.

Simply not possible unless you want to make a modification. For the example though you could just have an academy in some useless part of the map, although they could upgrade with it and build medics also.

It isn't possible, as Kumano said, however, with some tech buildings, you can disable doodad state so that they cannot be used, but still work for tech requirments. This will crash the majority of tech buildings, but it works for a few.
Placing a larger computer owned building over the tech building will also prevent selection, if you're that serious about preventing it.

good trick you can do if you dont really want them to see it is uh... build them somewhere else and dont give vision to yourself... and then make place like 7 give vision to you and create map revelears all around the place expect dont put it where you put thoes buildings smile.gif that takes a little time but it works if you really dont want them to see it

There is a way, you can have all the stuff as a part of your things. I guess. yea have all the members of the tech tree in one corner which should be easy to solve.

Yeah that would work but you will still see your buildings in the fog of war. The trigger doesn't fire very quickly. So you will see it full vision for about 1 second then it will go in the fog.

Not if the buildings start off as a seperate player (ie: a computer), and when the vision trigger fires, you give those buildings to the human player.

what most people do is, put mutliple buildings on top of each other so that a specific unit can be built, then unvision themselves, and vision a computer player, and walaah, make sure you put map revealers so you can see for the computer player tho.

They just said that. And that would not be what most people do. Most people just stack them. You just copied that from them for post. That system is ok but if you need to walk around and need fog of war you might be out of luck. One thing you can do is use a diplo engine(make it use a 4x quadrant so it goes faster) and then place units according to that tech tree if need be.
