I have started making a new campaign map and so far ive completed the first map and am working on the second lvl. Unlike the last campaign i made (only made 7 lvls and it was so bad that i stoped while i was ahead and deleted it from dldb) caled the S.E.A. campaign. People said that i needed to have more indepth about their past and explain things more...in this campaign i am doing that an making improvements on it as i progress because jimranor my bro is testing it for me and telling me the glitches and what i might want to consider adding to the map. Now for what it is about:

The campaign is about a guy named Shkoozmabu in a battlecruiser..wait i dont want to tell you that much about it so to keep the surprise. i will try to keep you updated and i will only submit my campaign this time when i am actualy FINISHED all of it.

Jim is helping me with the doodads because i am not that good with placing them and sometimes i forget to. In my last campaign i had a barren wastland with just some water in the corner and no doodads and some creatures.....it was really dull. im trying to change that. I might try to make a trailer of it so you can see what its like (and not like my other trailer that had horrible vocals, only focused on a small part of the map and was VERY confusing). Because i have better knowledge with the triggers in the SC editor i can make more advanced maps and hopefully better ones. All i can tell you is that the storyline is fairly interesting so far and full of mysteries that come together as you progress throughout the campaign. I will not accept any testers because jimranor already has that position (he came up with the name Shkoozmabu although i was the one that spelt it right and he is the one who made shkoozs personality traits ex likes dislikes and i just took that and put it into a map) but i have to say that i will be accepting any advice you have. Remember dont give me anything to advanced because i might have no idea what your talking about but you can feel free to try me. Wish me good luck on hopefully finishing this campaign smile.gif

Could you specify exactly what kind of advice your looking for? If you want advice for triggers or plot line you'd have to give out WAY more information and as for terrain you could check out the terrain section of the forums for some pointers and help.

coolz. I am just asking that if anyone thinks that it would be cool if i put a certain something in my map to make it more fun or appelling or to make the storyline more indepth then i might add it depending on if i feel like it and if it will fit with the story i have put into place already. As i progress further through the maps i will give out more information and right now im seriously thinking about making a trailer after i got some of the lvls done (like 2-5 done). It all depends whether you guys would like to see a trailer of what the campaign will be like. But i might need some basic ideas for the trailer like what it sould be about ex. what happens before the first mission, the basic storyline, what happened in the past and what it is like now in the future (flashback or something), or cool things that the maps will include.

I played your SEA campaign. It wasn't horrible, but at times it was unintentionally funny. I would advise against using your own voice in a map (although I did in The Saga of Doodan tongue.gif ), because it almost never comes out like you think it will.

General story tips:
Make every mission have a purpose. Don't just decide: "I think about 3 missions of fighting <enemy> would be fine." Make it so that if the player skips a mission, they will have a hard time figuring out how the story has changed. Also, make every character have a purpose. Don't just add characters to increase the body count or to echo more important characters. Every new character should affect the flow of the story instead of just increasing the size of the good or evil gang.

Be prepared to rewrite. Just because you think you've finished a map doesn't mean it's actually done. If you think of a good turn for the story that requires additional set up, don't be afraid to go back and rewrite your other missions.

THANX doodan smile.gif i will ask you if i need some help. And true my SEA campaign did suck but it was the first campaign that i almost finished so... and me and jim are thinking about re-making it but better (without the stupid names like sea ans sfa) and change the story around a bit. Why? because i have all 10 terran and all 10 zerg missions down on paper on how they are suppose to be and so far i have the first 3 protoss missions. i dont know if i will re-make it or just throw it all away yet. But first i will complete my current campaign. I already am having to go back and changing the first level because of my changes in the second. At the very least it is slowly making me a better map maker. I am considering now to make a trailer so yall can see what it would be like smile.gif

ADDITION:
I am also considering remaking my SEA campaings but with a different name and mabye new manegement. What i am asking is if anyone is up to the task to making my SEA campaign but better and you can change stuff like the name SEA because it REALLY smells. if someone is interested post that you are and i will create a topic and post its url here. smile.gif

for one its a campaign map and all the maps are broodwar maps.... When i get finished a good majority of my campaign i will try to get someone to test it. Until then i will keep in mind all that want to test my campaign smile.gif

ok i have 2 levels finished. I am still perfecting them with the help of my tester jim smile.gif. The levels are looking fairly good. I just need to make them a tad more difficult. the third level ive done all the placment of the units and all the locations. Ive also done the mission briefing. All to do now is the triggers which i will get to sometime to...i hope smile.gif.
il try to keep you all posted on the campaign updates!

just found out something weird. My campaing names is LOS (legend of shkoozmabu) and thier is a song that im listening to right now and its called los...

il wondering. when and if i finish my map should i throw in the los song in with it just because? (los is a german song just for you people who are going "what the fark is los?")
