It's not amazing at all.

But its a cooler way to stop a trigger from preserving.. Without taking the preserve action out of the trigger.

So if you have a trigger preserved and you add the negative wait in, it won't be preserved anymore and will only run once?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Forsaken on 2006-02-16 at 17:54:37
That would make sense... Because it would just keep negating. Forever?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2006-02-16 at 19:11:40
yep. It would be cooler if it made stuff happen before it was supposed to though...

Does it still count for wait blocks? crazy.gif

I'm pretty sure I once saw a topic about negative waits, and they really just make it an extremely large number.

well im not sure exactly why you would want negative waits because it just neutralizes a preserve trigger but since the wait is not a variable it is a value, for example in a trigge rif you set it to wait 500 milisecounds and then -600 milisecounds before the 500 milisecounds is over it will set, the wait to -600, now somehow im wondering since the wait just goes down by until it reaches zero will the wait ever stop going down until it reaches maximum minus wait and then start at the highest wait or what would happen test? blink.gif confused.gif

Is there any practical use to this?? confused.gif

1) Learn english.
2) You can use it for say, a trigger repeating then stopping.

I am guessing a wait just starts at 0 and adds one until it reaches the value? So if it is -1 it will just never preserve because it just keeps going up and up and up and up and up and up and up…?

your close i mention before the wait might stack with other waits and that wait might never end because the wait starts at value and minuses until gets to 0, so if its -1 it will become -2 all the way to -65535 then i have no idea what happens

Around the second page of this thread, negative waits are mentioned, they don't do anything.

You can't make negative waits because SC uses unsigned values.

- waits are just really high waits. As Legacy says there unsigned therfor it just reads some high number. Therfor the way it almost forever and you dont see it run again. Close this please?
