Make sure that it is the right player and the right type of floor trap.

That should work... make sure that the floor traps aren't the doodad ones and are actually owned by player 8, that's all that could really be wrong from the info you've given me.

What editor are you using? Because I don't think you are able to place the floor traps in the normal editor or X-tra editor as a unit, only as a Doodad.

using starcraft x-tra special

ADDITION:
guesss im using doodads, i dont know how but its the only thing i can think of, how can i use units...

You can use SCXE and place player owned gun traps. Just use the list on the left and find where it says 'Traps' and there you go, the gun traps.

The floortraps for player 8 is already made right? You might also need hypers.

hmmm never thought about that ill look in to it thanks...

could u be more specific?

I don't think hyper triggers would be needed for the trigger to work, but it would more wise to have them anyway. Make sure the guntrap is in the location, if that still doesn't work, post the map, and someone should be able to help.

they are in the location and they fire at me if i put them as my enemy, and if i cant find out how to do it ill just trash the map...

Hmm... I just did a test map, and it worked fine for me. Try setting it up so you get to see your gun traps attack, to see if they are the players. If you can select the gun trap when it's done, then you have possession of it.

well ive seen them kill my civs lol and i think i can always click them

as they were killing me i use my civs as money and i bought the guns but i have to find out how to do it without doing that

maybe i had white as my ally? or maybe im just a total idiot

Set it up, so there is an enemy unit for the gun trap to attack. And if you can click it, it is probably yours, because you can't click someone else's, if it's down that is. When you click, there shouldn't be any commands for the unit either.

no i was right im an idiot u cant attack air units with guns u have to use rockets, so the reason it hasnt been working is beacuse it has been, but im trying to attack flyers with meele only weapons
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Fwop_ on 2006-02-16 at 22:08:02
You should always use attack dummies with ground units, unless you absolutely have to use an air unit. Well, anyways, good job on finding the problem, I guess... lol

The Hell-fire missle floor traps don't attack air units either, all the floor traps, hence the floor part only attack ground units.
