Wow, that's probably the most daring spam I've seen here.

How's the compression feature coming, Clokr_? Any progress?

How well does SFs protection work? I could never figure out the older proedit except for unprotecting maps so i could figure out triggers but now im good enough i dont need to anymore. I wonder if you fixed the error i found? What i did when it said it didnt know what protector protected the map and would make the save button disabled was to first load an unprotected map in then open a protected one then save it unprotected (since the buttons dont disable) and edit it in starforge(SCXE always crashed). Hope you can fix it if you havent already.

As I see it SF protection works OK, but PROedit is the only thing that stops maphackers armed with SCUnprotect. It's a race between protectors and hackers. tongue.gif

Its a race between Programmers actually, but close enough, the hackers are the SCUnprotect users, while the protectors are the ProEdit users.

I think that this will be the compress window. The picture is not here because I CANNOT attach (why, yoshi, why)
Compress window
How you can see is like SF string editor window, I asked heimdal if I can use it and he accepted.
Any comments/suggestions?

(oh and notice that now in proedit's about window I wrote www.staredit.net ;P)

I like the looks of that compression window, Clokr_. It's exactly what I hoped it would be like. Will it be possible to compress a map without protecting it? I might want to delete all my comments, for example, and still work on the map afterwards.

That is just the original idea of the compression feature.

QUOTE(Help.htm)
Compress: Compressing a map will make it smaller, but without protecting it. So you can still open and work on your map.

*sigh* Another 12 hours are about to be wasted... disgust.gif

Overall, good job on the protector.
...but remember, no matter how hard protection gets, it's always possible to unprotect. happy.gif

I can't believe that it took so long for you to notice that the combo between SCU/SCMD unprotects. tongue.gif

I knew it from oldest version. I knew it like 6 months ago, but I didnt know how to stop SCU. I'm not as stupid as people thinks happy.gif

It's still fairly easy to use SCU on it now...

Ohh, yes it does biggrin.gif

In fact, it's extremely easy to get it back to the "1.3 state"... All a person needs is 45 seconds and a hex editor.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-06-12 at 19:56:53
Yes, a hex editor. Thats different. Its always possible to make things unprotectable through hexing. However the protection is against n00bs more.

HEY STUPID SOMEGUY, STOP LAUGHING AT MY PROTECTION. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T USE IT OR MAKE A BETTER ONE.

What I meant is that this requires minimal hex editing. There wasn't much changed. Though, it is true that n00bs won't get their hands on the map.

I'm not sure if you were sarcastic or not, but I wasn't laughing at it. I was just correcting Yoshi tongue.gif . I didn't mean it as an insult. Besides, your protection is one of the most advanced, so I really wouldn't be laughing at it (especially since I'm too lazy to make a better one. I don't use any protection.)

I thought you didn't like it yourself:
¬¬ PROEdit is a piece of junk, or that is what I think. (on BlizzForums)
[19:57] <SI> he knows it sucks
[19:58] <SI> [01:10] Cl0kr: proedit sucks (Sovereign Modding Empire)

Anyway, my apologies. closedeyes.gif

If you were talking to me when you said Fixed it thanks do i get in the credits? If so plz put me as SF-Locke(My sc name). If not (of course, LOL) then thats cool too i just want to know u were talking to me.

Hey evilopel, try gloating a little more. I don't think you're smug enough.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2004-06-13 at 07:06:53
Evolipel, I was saying that proedit is a sh*t, but its protection is not bad. Anyway I know how easy is to hack hex editing (I made it), I'll try to change that, but for now I'm happy with what it does. For now it is the safest.
