Eek, and here I thought I wasn't going to do any more new maps, especially D ones... heh.

So much for that. I guess I'll stick to my word from now on, though.

Anyway, it's a D map. Like the others. Ok, not COMPLETELY like the others, but as close as one'll get coming from someone like me. wink.gif

*ahem* (clears throat):
  • 12 levels, with difficulty based on # of players in game.
  • Flow control system to handle crowding (too many enemies compressed into an area, and they get teleported down).
  • Shuttle-based menu system (credit goes to bolt for the original idea).
  • 14 purchasable units, 3 purchasable spells, togglable gunner mode (ala Trigger Happy D), and 4 secrets (you have to beat it to find them out).
  • Refundable purchases (recall to refund bin).
  • Cheasy rap sequence at the start (I got bored). wink.gif
  • Unique ban-vote system (tell me if you like/dislike it)
  • Minerals and gas charge up over time (money and gunner timer, respectively)
  • 16 Random playing tips that appear during the game (these help a lot, actually. I suggest for those too lazy to make briefings to use random tips, as people will more likely read them in game anyway, especially under context).
There may still be bugs, and it may need some more balancing, but hey, that's what you guys are for. wink.gif Don't let me down. Enjoy!

Get v1.1 Here!

WOOT!
More of Tuxedo's SE OWNAGE!
I've gotta try this. Player count based difficulty?
What does player count effect?
# of enemies, enemy HP, time between lvls, what?
*is curious*
*which is obvious*

It effects both the quantity and spawn rate. I might need to balance it though, since i haven't gotten good enough testing with multiplayer to tell if its good or not. You tell me. wink.gif

How much smaller would it be without the sounds in the game, maybe for faster online download.

I hope to be able to get on tomorrow.
Hmm... give some instructions, like-
Drop a unit from the dropship to find out what Sel.1, 2, 3 do. Then merely find out what the next group does and drop a unit to spawn. Gas is consumed by gunning at 2x(?? correct?) the rate as it builds up.\

And some more stuff. There's a certain confusing aspect to it, it'll take me a moment to learn \=
Also, make 1p a easier, for noobs like me.
Wait, aren't we all noobs to this map? laugh.gif

It's like any defense map: you're not supposed to play it 1p. Even I can't play it 1p. I'm sure it's possible, but gl doing it short of cheating (or using any of the secrets wink.gif).

I'll release a new version tonight to fix a few things, including better explanations. Things I'll include:
  • Tips for cloaked units.
  • Better explanation of menu system.
  • Context-based explanation of splash damage (whenever you purchase a lurker, firebat, tank, archon, or reaver)
  • Longer creep placer duration
  • Tip about detectors
  • Higher damage backup defense turrets
I might also add a new feature: fusions. Namely, when you "refund" two or more specific units at the same time, you get a replacement unit that's a combination of the two. I wonder if that's going a bit overboard, though.

... k

Mr. Tux. That's a new one. tongue.gif

Anyway, here's v1.1, with everything I listed above included. Nothing more, nothing less. If you've already downloaded v1.0, you can go ahead and skip this, but if not, I urge you to download this instead. If you intend to help me spread this (wink.gif), or play on map night, use this version for that as well.

Harraj!
