Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Huge stacking question...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RedNara on 2006-02-22 at 12:09:45
Hey, you guys all know how to stack units right. Ok so my question was you know disabled tanks also... is it possible to stack disabled tanks?

I mean like if you did the thing to make the units stack and later disabled them are like the disabled one the same as stacked.

So ok to stacks units you have to replace them stacked. Lets say i did that for a tank. Then once i seige tank i disable them. Ok does that mean that disabled tank is still like stackable...

And btw are disabled tanks like walkthrough able? becuase i cant remember XD... well if they are then there is no point of the question...

You can't walk through disabled tanks. Also, you cannot stack units. Sorry to disappoint.

yea i think i did this once. i did it on a ghost with the disable enable enable thing. then i gave it to my opponent and forced it to walk across the area. it walked straight threw the buildings and other units

Anything disabled will walk if it is somewhere it should not be (E.g.: Water, on a building, on a cliff, on another unit) unless you find a way to make it not move (E.g.: Use MOVE with a hypertrigger moving it to a location over an unwalkable terrain)

Ye can certainly stack air units (as it's hardcoded into the game). I'm sure there's probably some way to stack tanks (there is or was a way to stack infantry units such as the marine).

wait it seems like you guys are kinda unclear or i am...

So can you walkthrough disabled units yes or no?

And yes you can stack units. First you stack spirtes or something in starforge or something like that... And then you enable them and give them to player the units will stack uptop of other units. like if you did that to marine it will just stack on its own it will like walk though...

Well to think of it now.. my main questoin is, is disabled units walkthough able?

If you do the method to cloak units like SCVs and have them functional on a unit sprite that has "Disabled??" checked in StarForge, then it will able to walk through other units and buildings. Here's how you do that; Link.

Disabling a normal unit will make it walkthroughable. As far as I know, you cannot cloak stacked Tanks or vice versa. However, I have never experiemented with it. Try stacking a Tank, then adding an extra "Disable Doodad State" at the very end to see if it becomes cloaked as well.

Dont see why you cant cloak stacked tanks XD... If they are walk throughable you can just put one ontop of another and then do the seige and disable method... Ok well i changed my whole d's concept so there is no more discussion XD

the whole point im not using any disabled tanks or anything just using stacked units... Well thanks guys.
