Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Crashing Players In Map Without Lag Screen

Im making this map and I need a ban system where it crashes a player from a game, but I can't crash a person from the game without doing something like disabling a unit that glitches the game for anyone that sees it- if I use that theory it brings up the lag box for 45 seconds and all the players have to sit through it... sad.gif

If you can help me out plz reply- and no spam plz

it's kinda cruel to crash a player unless theyre hacking or something...sometimes the traditional stepping on a beacon or kill a unit to make a player end in defeat work...other than that i'm not sure what else to cause a player to exit a game,

You could just use the defeat trigger. Won't crash em, but will ban em.

have a ban area like having P1 have a Dark Archon and the other players have a medic, then use mealstorm(i think thats the right spell) and when the medic dies, have the Player banned center veiw on a location, make the location vissble to them and have a crashing unit there.

My top post explains that players will have to sit through 45 second lag if I do that...
And the crash ban is intended for if you know a person is hacking :\

k then you can have a disabled building for that player for anti-maphacking...as some people have said, place a disabled building(such as a refinery disabled) on the map where people aren't supposed to view...like have a black fog of war at the lower right corner of the map and put it there. You can put another set of triggers if you know whose hacking makes them view the disabled building.

Anyway...i don't think defeat triggers will make players have a 45 second lag...when they get the defeat trigger they automatically leave the game.

Well, there's really no way to do this because if there is no timer for them to get 'dropped' then they simply couldn't be crashed. It's just how it works. Either defeat will have to work somehow or people have to wait the 45 seconds.

like if i hadn't been a mapmaker
anyways there is no possible way to do it. if they are hacking(which i don't think that u meant hackers but that's just me^^) do what someone said (that i can't remember name and im too lazy to go down and look at it) have a disabled turret in a place where there is fog of war for normal players so the hacker will see it and crash but other players wont anyways you still wait

player 2 triggers

player one sends one unit to ban area.
play wav


make sure you make a small wav. then put it as a trigger. then you go to strings and delete that string.
dont edit the same trigger or else you have to do it again

Ok, i'll try the sound & string thing, do I delete the string of the wav? Or of the trigger step playing the wav?

i bet for the wav string, warning you are about to corrupt your map better do that when it's finished other wise if you re open it it might start with weird messages or crashing vanilla staredit when you look at sounds the second time = corrupt i guess (t3h voice of experience here) oh and i think (not sure) that they still wait but u try it
