How would you have stacked hydras as in Stacked hydra defen2e, where the hydras are already stacked, and burrowing them won't make them unstack?
To get Hydralisks stacked, just create them burrowed and move them all to the same spot.
To make them unburrow, order them to move somewhere.
To keep them stacked while they are unburrowed, use the 'Move Unit' trigger to move them to unwalkable terrain (water, cliff edge, null, etc.) If you do this with hyper triggers, the units won't be able to move at all, but they can still attack.
Oh, so they aren't technically stacked, just unmoveable. I thought it had something to do with sprites and enabling and disabling...
Anyway, thanks.
Or you can have the lazy players do it themselves XD
Yea, that's how it is in my map except there's too many noobs who don't know anything and won't listen to me explain how to do it.
How do you stack hydras, i forgot (not really, i just never learned)
In-game or pre made?
Btw kenoli, I did what you said. They stack alright, but sometimes they don't attack. I don't get it...
Here's the map... (move civ to left to start)
in the game you hotkey 1 unit, then burrow it.
after that you select the unburrowed, then quickly you gotta do all this
Burrow, Hotkey 1 them, unburrow, then move!
If all of the units that you are stacking are facing towards the top left, it helps in stacking them.
One more question...
I made a d out of the above map, except it lags horribly when there's other people in it. In stacked hydra defen2e, it doesn't lag. So, is it the triggers causing it to lag, or something else?
ADDITION:
Anyway to get rid of lag?
I believe in Hydra d, they only used a few triggers for this purpose.
Actually, when I looked at its triggers with Trigview, they're almost exactly the same as mine, except I don't know what the locations are.
I have it so that when a player buys a hydra, a burrowed hydra is created in a remote location for p7, moved to the player's area, ordered to move, and given to the player. Then, I have a trigger that moves all hydras for the force to water. This location covers all of the player's places, so it's a pretty big location.
Anything unusual?
No, seems right, but I think that even in hydra d, some of the hydras dont attack because they are covered by the other units...
How many units are you trying to hold?
More units = more lag.
10-30 for each player, 6 players.
30 is too much, 10 is ok, 20 is pefect
