Staredit Network -> Concepts -> RPG Auto/asking to save

Hey ppl,
I just thought of this. This actaully could work. Lets say there a big boss battle coming up and there is a save outside the bosses door or entrance or w/e. And you walk up to this place lets say its called "asking to be saved," and it askes you to save where you are so if you die then you appear back at that spot. Lets say its called location "saved"

The triggers would be something like this......really easy.

When the guy walks up to there create a borrowed ling or something borrowed or can not be seen at location "asking to be saved". Center location saved on p12 borrowed ling. Give that unit to p12 and if that guy dies then create whatever unit you want at location "saved". Then if theres another saved place move that hidden unit to the next place.

This can also be done with multi players. Just use p9-p14. P9 could be set up with p1. P10 could be set up with p2. ect.

Not a bad idea?

Someone can use this just give some credit as Ocean_of_Fire
Thanks,
Ocean

Do I still have to give credit if I used this type of respawn system before you actually posted it? The only different is that I used burrowed defilers belonging to the players themselves (so they can see and know where they saved), but I don't know because I think I based my system off FF : Lost in Time.

Well i already heard of this, it's been made before, but good job on making it yourself!

The concept of a 'checkpoint' is fairly common, at least in my knowledge. I did the same thing, except using death counters and it's automatically activated whenever you enter each town. Of course, when the transmission pings, I guess the yellow ring around the unseen unit looks neat, but the only real use for the "Saving..." is for show, and perhaps giving the map a more RPGish feel. Perhaps if they used the exact style as you did, credits may be necessary. Otherwise, I don't think you should 'patent' the system like that. Thanks for sharing anyways.
