What do you think about immortality? the ability to live forever without age. i know that if such a abilty were allowed on a large scale bases that the world would be in choas with overpopulation and such. but suppose its created and you know it exists. i would give anything for the power to be immortal. i would get surgery to insure i never have kids. i would sell my very soul for that power. think about the difference it could make. someone could learn every language and just travel the earth takeing in knowloge for all eternity. i would feel in a sence all knowing. i would feel like a God and probably go somewhere where i would be treated as such. anyway what do you think?

What difference would it make? You can learn every language if you wish to. They all have basics that are the same, just used differently.
And go ahead and sell your soul for an eternity of unhappyiness.
Knowledge != Happiness.
Again. What difference would it make? Oh wow! You can live forever! Wow! You're so cool! Wow!

Go ahead and sell it. We don't care about you anyways.
And this should be in Lite Discussion.
Well, if you take immortality as "never aging" then yes, I'd probably like to be immortal too. At least once I hit 25. But if immortality means never dying, I'd probably not want it, as it'd bring too much pain, and stuff.
Would get boring after a few millenia.

A few? Try more like the first 100 years.
There is absolutely no reason one should be alive more than the time their body has. It's straight up pointless to want to live longer. If you want knowledge, get your damn ass off the computer, and go learn something from a library.

If everyone hailed to me because I was immortal, forget learning all the languages, I'd assimmilate everyone into my Grand Empire and they would all have to learn English!

Yeah, I agree... immortality could be your worst enemy if someone wants to sadistically torture you knowing that you're not going to die.
Only good thing about being Immortal would be that you get to see the technology / games in the far off future
immortality is a hidden curse. what many people do not realise is that we are blessed with having short lives. we see the world as a more beautiful place and enjoy what it offers. on the other hand if you were immortal the colors would dull and happiness would cease. repitition is not a good thing :0
You're not invulnerable, just immortal. Kill yourself, then

. Yah, immortality is good.
You can't kill yourself, if you're immortal.
Immortality implies eternal natural life; invulnerability sold separately.
Yes. Immortality doesn't mean invulnerability.
If they did find a way. Just.. NO. Ruin the word. I shouldnt half to go into detail.
No I wouldn't wanna sell my soul for immortality. You could get all the knowledges you need in your normal life. Happiness doesn't really come out of all the knowledge you have. Happiness comes out of looking back at what you have done so far in your life. I don't want to be immortal because I don't want to see the failure of all human beings they cause every single year...
If man was to be immortal, then he would be born with such a gift. Humans will never achieve the level of immortality.
We'll find immortality long before someone is ever born with it. But don't get me wrong, it's gonna take anywhere from dozens to thousands of years to find it.
Firts we'd sterilise everyone, then people would get bored, then we'd freeze ourselves till the big crunch. It's a bad idea to want to be immortal. But people will still want it, we can't be trusted with ourselves.
immortality is a devil in itself, it would reign destruction on the earth, and all men would fight for it, humankind would kill itself in its greed, only too late would we realize the consequences of our actions, we'd all be
if you were immortal, you would lose evrything and everyone you loved, you would outlive the human race itself, you would have nothing, yes you would have wealth, and an etertinty to spend it, but with whom??? who would u love and care about??? everyone you'd ever known or loved would be , there is no point in it, you don't fight nature, and yet we already are......
if everyone was immortal then people would stop whining about things and stop worrying if someone else is trustworthy
since we would be immortal, we can live on planets with no air and we wouldnt need to eat or drink at all

Hell yes. I only have one life to live, and I'd love to extend it. I'm always short on time with schoolwork and sports. Damn, to leave all those worries behind and take life slowly? Sign me up.
I would rather not be immortal in this world. Live and stay younger longer, maybe, but definately not forever. Sucks to be an elf woman in LotR; you never fight in wars and thus, are always under protection and not likely to die.
I'd take immortality for sure. If I some how get bored to the point of I don't want to live anymore, then I can just kill myself. I doubt that happening to me personally, but you never know.
I would love to be immortal, just for the comic value. Go to funerals and laugh.
thats not cool dude.......

Yes. Immortality doesn't mean invulnerability.
You can be invulnerable, but not immortal. Thus meaning you are indestructible until your life runs out.
Invulnerable means you cannot be hurt by anything, but you can die.
Immortal means you cannot die.
If you were indestructable... that would be REALLY strange...
Somebody could just slice your head off and you'd still be alive, only without a body. Wouldn't that suck?
