Staredit Network -> Portal News -> Glitch Factor Boards & Banner
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-06-13 at 13:20:58
One of our Hosted Websites, Glitch Factor, has finally set up their own forums after I stopped hosting them (it was lame, to say the truth, to have someone own a website yet not be an admin).

Now you can see his own forums right here!

On another note, I've updated the banner with the globe with the one that uses 3D Studio Max.

We encourage all the websites/affiliates to LINK to the banner (hotlink protection disabled in that area). I will be creating some more banners very soon and have a page dedicated to it.

Dude, what forums are those that Deathknight has? I'd be inclined to get them. The news page looks awesome. I need that for my site sad.gif .

And awesome job of the banner Yoshi. Top notch, indeed.

PhpBB is free, but you have to get the PHP hosting and MySQL server. Invision, which is better, costs $69.95/yr or $199.99 for lifetime.

The Invision board software is downloadable and free. I didnt pay a cent for any software used on this website.

But you need a host that supports PHP. Correct?

Hmm, I earn 12$ a month... Erghh.. kwasny.gif

Hmm. If invision boards are so good why doesnt everybody use them.

Yoshi did you use php nuke or something like that to build this site.

PHP nuke or other web portal scripts were never ever used in the making of Staredit.net.

Staredit.net simply uses Invision Boards as a template and its beefed up with scripts, addons and modules.

By the way, SClegacy is run by PHP nuke. No one ever notices it. They may have a new layout, but you'll notice the engine is still there.

PHP nuke has a really cruddy download database system anyway.
