RPG MAPPING CONTEST[/center]

" As many of ya may know im abig time rpg fan, kinda lacking in rpg creations these days so im gonna host a small rpg contest and see how it goes. Is no entry fee, i find that making entry fee for a contest can kinda make people not want enter it. Well enough talking time get down to details. "

THEME: Role Playing Games
Im pretty open about this contest, anything that do with a rpg like, Action-RPG, Adventure map, Semi-hack'n'slash RPG, Open RPGS, Blast Crap out of monsters RPG and so on. But if has nothing in-lines as a rpg map will be rated a 0 due factor didnt meet the requirements set for contest. Many rpgs you can do so final part is up to you

Guidelines
» Must be an original map not made prior to the contest. Stealing a map or sending in an old map will be rejected straight away.
» Map dimensions, Whatever you feel right doing.
» No map over 2.5mb.
» Any number of players acceptable.
» Team Projects Allowed.
» You may submit up to three entries, but only the highest scoring entry will be placed and recieve a prize.
» No entry fees.
» Feel free to protect your map. The playing end will be emphasized more than the creation end.
» E-Mail me the map, not pm e-mail is; moogle.evil@gmail.com

Judging Criteria
(Note: Using MiniMoose2707 scoring system seems work really well in his contest so all credit goes to him for Judging Criteria)

Theme (15) - Obviously this is the name of the game. If the map isn't even remotely related to the theme, it won't score very well. A map scoring 0 on this won't be graded further. Something that looks premade and just custom fit with a few text messages won't score very well.

Fun (20) - Important for me as I'm playing the map. Am I running around having a good time, or watching a unit talk to itself in a movie? If I ever go to this map again, is it going to be to play it with friends or to delete the scm/scx? This is probably going to be the deciding factor in contest entries.

Aesthetics and Professionalism (15) - Did you use one type of tile and no text color? Are there mispellings distracting me at every turn with some poorly made triggers? Hopefully you can create something that looks and feels decent. I'm not asking for extensive extended terrain or hundreds of sprites, a map with a unique feel to it should score at least an easy 10.

Prizes
As you can see im not rich in minerals so i'll give as much as i can afford =)

First Placement: 1600 Minerals
Second Placement: 750 Minerals
Thrid Placement: 400 Minerals
Runner Up: 160 Minerals
Noteworthy Mention: 30 Minerals
(Runner ups is now only 4th, 5th to whatever = Noteworthy Mentions, depending if your map is even worthy! WAAGH)

As an RPG map, does it need to have any killing whatsoever? What exactly would be required to make it considered to be an RPG? (I'm hoping to try to make an interesting one)

heh, i might start a mini-rpg projects as well...aside from other projects i have in the making right now...but most maps i make i like it original so i might enter when i have some ideas for making a new one...
650kb is kind of short because i like stuffing some of my maps with music

...anyway ill see what i can do ...

Would u consider Horror RPGs as an rpg. What i mean by that is most people say horror maps arn't rpgs...but if there are many characters ... and a good storyline with a followed plot and cinimatics..does that count?
