Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Assistance with Anti Maphack
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Veta on 2006-03-06 at 16:42:50
I am a creator of a specific Snowball Map, Redemption, up until now I have been too lazy to add this feature, I know how to add certain types of AMH, like the old anti Damnation and the original AMH but as of late there is the current Inhale MH which I have no idea how to protect from. I was wonder if there was a said AMH that I could put on the outer rim of the map, and then have people's screens center on the location with the AMH unit(s) and drop them at the start, if they don't have MH on then it won't drop them (crash them.) Yes under this system one could just keep MH off until they move their screen but that's what I want for now and perhaps an explaination for the more complicated always working AMH if possible.

Thank You.

Edit: nvm I edited a method I already knew.

Dont really know what you mean by that
So im guessing you still need a AMH system
A easy one is making a higher terrain and putting civs or unused units on the top
Then put Tanks there. If the tank kills a civ u can either make it defeat (But most ppl have anti defeat hack) or you can crash them by making them see a disabled unit that makes you crash.

New idea, if Civs are killed kill all units for current player are killed, than just give vision of the player with the crash unit and centerview biggrin.gif that way whenever activated the map hacker will be completely wiped out and drop.

I remember using an unplacable unit that you dont even have to look at to crash sc. I think it was the unplacable protoss gate thing.

I souly remember reading something on the readme about Inhale gaining protection from this, Oh well Just saying. Im not entirely sure though.. ill see if i can pull up a readme or something maybe...

QUOTE(Inhale Readme)
The hack also includes protection from the units "Independent Command Center" and "Independent Jump
Gate" as well as units altered by the SetDoodadState trigger, which crash the game and are used in
some antihack UMS maps.

I don't think that the high terrain method would work. From what I remember, it reveals the fog of war in a way that your units don't attack others that are revealed or something like that.

Note: There have been many attempts to try to anti-hack with triggers, and it isn't possible. Using the "shoot up a cliff" method does not stop map hack.
