Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Scarab/Interceptor problems
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Vampire(MC) on 2006-03-14 at 01:29:22
So... My scarabs and interceptors don't move in the directon of the generic command target I set them to patrol to.. The interceptor flies back to the bottom right where the carrier is, and the scarab moves up to the top left, even though I have the point set on a location. WTF?

If you can't give me any possibilities, let me know and I'll Upload the map. I'm being a bit cautious on the upload though because I've spent a few days on this one and it's turning out great up to this problem.. don't need any map thieves taking my credit..

ADDITION:
Nevermind... Again...

XD

So is this solved?

I'd check to make sure the units are computers, not neutral or players.

Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, someone, but an Interceptor is a NPC (Non-playable character), so you can't do anything with it. It's like selecting an allied unit. Anyway, I think the code writen into Brood wars is that if it isn't your unit, you don't command it, and if someone else doesn't own it, the computer has it. With that, the computers code tells it to move the unit named "Prtoss Interceptor" back to it's hangar, the Carrier. As for the Scarab, I can't help you with that. disgust.gif

What about Particle Arena? Its a map where they have interceptors following dropships. and you can make the interceptors fly in a straight line or go random and lots of stuff like that. I could post it if you like.

AI scripts can get them to do whatever you want. But yes you cannot directly control them.
