Hello again people I have problems my map now crashes whenever I try to play it this has started happening only recently, I don't have any crash sprites in my map so its not that but I do have over 200 locations and lots of triggers if that means anything? Does anybody know why it keeps crashing?

Thanks for the help

Does it crash at start up or as you are playing?

If it is randomly when you are playing, do a final compression and protection with uberation, save it as a different file name, and try again. Makes absolutely no sense, but I had an extremely trigger heavy map (1200 triggers, 200 locations) that stopped randomly crashing once I did this.

If it crashes at start up or at a consistent time frame, then I might suggest looking for specific causes.

Yeh it crashes at start up straight after the mission briefing.

Then there's an obvious reason it's doing it. What units are visible when you start playing?

If your map is any size other than 64, 96, 128, or 256, it will crash if it's the first map you're playing.

You might have a unit such as a building overstepping the map boundary... Maybe there are too many doodads or sprites or too many units... Check your start locations also...

They're animations. You can put them on maps with Starforge... I don't use anything else. Probably with X-Tra too. They're annoying if you use a lot though and they can cause lag too.

So...what do they do?

Basically they... well the Sprite Doodads can be placed any and everywhere. They are really good for covering up deformed custom terrain or being placed in water or places they're not supposed to be to make it look better. They basically let you put an Asphalt sign on Dirt without skewing the terrain althought all sprites are walk-throughable. The unit sprites aren't really important... I never use them... I don't know what you'd use them for... Sprites just make your map look better just don't use too many.

Well I just use normal terrain not all those square ones so I don' t think sprites are the thing for me.

if u set a units health to 0% i can crash but only with some units... also place the top of a tank or goliath can crash the game
