Storyline / Introduction

Taken from the mission briefings.

In the beginning, life was simple. People lived out their lives in peace, and happiness. The three moons above, stayed where they should have, in the sky. Then, something happened. The second moon, the largest of the three, Twilight, collided with the third moon, the smallest of the three, Dawn. No one could figure out the reason why these two moons had collided. The collision resulted in both moons being utterly destroyed. Their debris rained down upon the surface of the planet for decades, destroying lives and villages. Pockets of people survived, and after the debris stopped raining down, they started to rebuild. Most of the fragments were from Twilight. Some say that, through the collision, the fragments gained an aura of power. Over time, a few people learned to harness this power. Some learned the power of healing, others, learned the power of destruction. The surface was ravished by battles and wars, fighting over control of these Twilight Crystals.

Progress Updated: Screenshots of characters and spell casting coming soon.

ADDITION:

Progress: Updated Info in RED

Spell system is complete. A listing of each characters spells are now posted. Names of spells will most likely change before I'm finished.

What I would like to ask all of you is what do you guys want/need screenshots of most? I found out how to take screenshots, but I only have a crappy version of Paint on this computer, and when I copy into it, it turns black/white. So to actually get screenshots I would need to install SC on my other computer where I have photoshop. Any help in this area would be appreciated.

Also, any overall suggestions for this map? I have a ton of storyline ideas and realize they aren't in this write up, but I plan to change that as story is finalized.

What is coming next, intros for each character, and starting to work on the core missions/quests. I don't plan to add anymore basic systems unless you all have any good ideas to add.

Thanks,

Hugel

Hm...interesting. Personally, I would cut down on the amount of playable characters. Four or five human players seems more realistic, as from my experience, only 2-4 players will stay throughout the entire game. Of course, I'm talking about the B.net audience. Perhaps you're aiming at the SEN or a private interest group, so that'll vary. But the less playable characters there are, the easier time you'll have developing each character and such. If you have a buncha characters, you might have a problem giving everyone a decent amount of lines during the playthrough.

Puzzles during the boss fight? I don't really like the sound of that. I suggest you simply keep the puzzles in the dungeons and away from the battle. And make sure that the puzzles are real headscratchers. That'll definately be amusing, as there's a lack of puzzles in the majority of RPGs. Heck, I should add some puzzles in my RPG as well...

That's all the feedback you'll be getting from me at this point. And your screenshots aren't working.

Updated-Demo

I have updated the Twilight Legacy RPG Demo. I submitted this version to the Kupo Nut RPG Mapping Contest. Feedback I am looking for right now is: Difficulty - How hard is it to progress in certain areas? Characters - Do they seem balanced and fit within their difficulty order? Quests - How they are delivered and how they play out in game? Any and all feedback appreciated, thanks. I will be asking for beta testers soon, once I get all the main quests complete.

This map sounds really neat. Ths story is a 8/10 by my book, and I'll play it even if it's the most cliche RPG in the world. I like the features in an RPG, the ease-of-use when using things, the story depth as you progress through a game (though sometimes I simply prefer a hack-and-slash over a great story), and, of course, the unit balancing.
