Can people not join your games because of the 'high latency' error?

If so, it is most likely your router. You can get around it by joining one of your friends games first, then make them join yours, or configure your router to allow packets through port 6715.

I have a router so how do you configure that port?

Sorry, it is port 6112. Here are instructions:

First, you need to know your IP address.
1. Go to Start > Run > cmd
2. Enter in "ipconfig" (no quotes), and you will see your ip address. Write this down somewhere.

Next, we'll configure the router
I am assuming you have a linksys router, since it is the most common:

1. Go to: http://192.168.1.1

2. The default is a blank username, password is "admin" (no quotes).

3. Look for port forwarding, it is most likely under "advanced>fowarding"

4. Under customized applications, enter in a name

5. Ext Port: 6112 to 6119

6. Check off: Protocol TCP and UDP

7. Where it says IP address, enter in the ip address from ipconfig

8. Check Enable

9. Now click Apply. You may have to restart your router, but most likely not.

That should work, go test it.

Mindarchon said the default name/pass was nothing/admin, but you can also try admin/nothing or admin/admin if that doesn't work.. it just varies from router to router.

In general, your best bet at setting up port forwarding (if mindarchon's directions didn't work for your specific router) is checking out the site of the company that produced the router.

If you still can't login, try asking whoever installed your router for the password.
