Some of you have no doubt heard that the newer 360s have better drives in them. they are much quieter than the old ones, they don't make the games as warm, and they dont scratch your disks if you move your 360. These new drivers come with 360s made in 2006 however i got mine in 2005 which means I have the crappy drive.

I know I have a warrenty on it so ill just ask for the newer drive (ive heard of people doing this so it should work) but my question is will I lose any data? Is ALL my information on the hard drive? so as long as i keep the hard drive all is well?

well i got the same like yours. i got mine in 2005 but i waited until it broke. usually the problem was the chip. they mest up the coding on it. whenever your xbox 360 gets hot, the chip tries to shut down your xbox 360. then if you wait like a day or so the chip still thinks its hot.

once your xbox 360 is broke. just take out the harddrive (thats if you got the $400) and send it into the company.
