I've been playing a game named Guild Wars for a while now and I find it pretty entertaining. I love its features and the real time fighting. But one of the best parts is NO monthly fee. The graphics are also pretty nice. But recently people have been telling me that World of Warcraft was more popular. Personally I believe Guild Wars to be WAY better and just think that World of Warcraft is more popular because more people know about it rather than Guild Wars. Please tell me what you think

Never played Guild Wars, can't compare. I've had lots of fun with WoW up until now. Now I'm level 60, and level 60 is boring at shiz...
i heard both games are great, each with different unique gameplay features but they do tend to get boring after you play it for a while...most of the friend i know plays WoW and are pretty much addicted to it...even though it costs a monthly fee it ain't half bad...if a game is worth a montly fee to make the game cleaner and more fun than it might be worth it. as without any it'll turn out to be like diablo,diablo2, and all the other bnet games that turns into a slum-hackfest...
i'd play it if i have it, just simply don't have the time to at the moment...
guild wars is pretty fun but its limited as they say until their expansion packs come out where you can only get up to level 20 or something, buying the game and the expansion packs is their way of hosting the game into a mmorpg. graphics are sweet though too.
on the other hand WoW seems awesome too, graphics, gameplay, features with holiday surprises and random events are good. people have played it and liked it but it does get boring after a while and a little repetitive on what ive heard

Guild Wars has those too

I have a yule cap from christmas on my ranger.
Guild Wars allows you to lvl 20...WoW allows yo uto lvl 60!!! And soon they will raise it to 70 in the Expansion Set!!!

Join Firetree or Spirestone server.
Tizzle same as guild wars. XD
get guild wars new expansion coming out its awsome dude...
i played both i enjoyed guild wars more. but then again there all similar im serious... just a game...
Silkroad Online Is like WoW and GW but it is completely free, I find it really fun. You can get up to level 90 and the world is massive and alot of stuff to do. When you hit level 20 you can be a Thief, a Hunter, or a Trader. Hunters protect the traders on the Silkroad from the thiefs who are trying to steal from the Traders. Game is hella fun and the graphics are pretty good. Check it out. =D
It doesnt cost a monthly fee if you play on private servers.

Illegal...It is better to play with fee if you want to be considered in the game. Plus, those private servers are buggy.
Neither!!, WoW And Guild wars are Both MMORPGs, MMORPGs = Consumes your Life, Having your life consumed by a game = Recipe for a Basement Dweller. Recipes for Basement Dwellers = BAD BAD BAD, i cant imagine how People get so Hooked on MMORPGs. my Brother stays on his Comp like 100/168 Hours of the week! its like a Drug i swear. i am Never gonna play any mmorpg, they are created by the Devil.
I say World of Warcraft is better, but it lags more

WoW also have "cartoon" graphics, so GW looks more real. And off course; GW is free and not so addicting as WoW

Guild Wars = PvP
WoW = RPG
While Guild Wars has an RPG mode where you can play with everyone else in instanced worlds (but towns aren't instanced) it was designed around PvP so everything you do there goes towards unlocking stuff for PvP or is affected by changes to PvP.
While WoW has pvp, it sucks. Imbalanced to hell, almost impossible to find an equal match, not entirely skill based, etc etc.
EDIT: Oh yeah, STOP COMPARING THE TWO. They are different types of games. It's like comparing an FPS to an RPG.
Guild wars pwns all! I've never played WoW, so i wouldn't really know.
Umm No, WoW can be PvP also Chuos. lol, its PvP, PvE, or whatever the other ones called. and from what my brother says, There is a shiz (not censored, typed) load more STUFF to do in WoW Then in Guild Wars.
I'm not a fan of fighting stupid enemy AI. That's why I'm not really into PvE games, if that is the main goal.
GW seems more of a PvP game that has strategic value. It's kind of like the fun of playing Magic the card game. The new ones coming out and IT DOESn'T REQUIRE THE OLD GW! That means the late people can pick that one up, or just pick up the old GW for cheap.

And Guild Wars has PvE also. The point I was getting across is that when you compare them side by side the PvP in Guild Wars completely demolishes the PvP in WoW and the PvE in WoW completely demolishes the PvE in Guild Wars. And Guild Wars: Factions is coming out and from what I've seen it will be several times better than the Original. When chosing a game know what you want in it first then ask the right questions.

Just like MTG in the way you dont have to own the old sets to play the new ones. Guild Wars was built around MTG philosophies which is why most people who have played MTG and play Guild Wars absolutely love it. The restricted 8 skill bar, 200 attribute system (in magics case - deck count). The vast number of strategies involved in combining, or not combining, skills from 2 different classes (in magics case - colors). And the fact the game is balanced (as magic strives to be within each set).
Play a lock on WoW pvp, and tell me there is no strategy and skill involved. Never have I found a RPG that required so much skill in pvp. At first I didn't see much, but the more I played, the more I realized, it's insane. I've beaten people more geared than me, higher level than me, and same build as me. And I've won almost every single time. I have 95-99+% winning chance on duels. And I owe a very large chunk of that to how I play.
I don't give a crap about your abilities or the fact that you lie about them because when it comes to PvP a good game shouldn't have to include armor, weapons, and levels. It should be strait skills and nothing else. If any of your higher level or better geared opponents had the same skill setup you did and used them the same way who the hell do YOU think would win? Thats right, NOT YOU.
Ah but you don't care that Guild Wars provides balance to PvP. You want to be rewarded with time spent and not with the intelligence you retain.
i have gw and i played wow once and i liked wow better but i dont want to pay the fee

addition:
and gw is more pvp it says so right on the box " You'll prove your worth with every battle as skill, not hours played decides your fate."
and it goes on to say
" ...it will always be your skill that earns you victory or defeat."
so either thats good advertising or you need skills to survive

Um... You cannot say a game is better until you've played both, which I have.
Guild Wars is fun, but lacks what I like to do in MMORPGs, which is where WoW comes in, and allows me to do it.
They are both good, and have their flaws, and advantages.
But I do like WoW more because of how you can make your own things
WoW just got the new patch today... the one with UPG priest talents and weather effects... Im anoyed now!!! Priests have crazy AOE... now it makes me as a mage feel worse :\
Basically, there are 4 factors that ultimately decide a battle:
Reflex: doing something faster than the other guy
examples: getting headshots in CS, DDR
Statistic: having better gear/higher level than other guy
examples: D2, Pokemon
Logic: countering the enemy with their weakness, more so than how fast you do it or how high your level is
examples: Starcraft, Warcraft III, chess
Chance: pure random luck
examples: flipping a coin
I see GW as more of a L-game because the limit cap is at 20. Later on, it becomes which skills you CHOOSE, rather than how good your items are.
WoW seems more of a S-game, though it does have some L-elements. Things like how level 60 people have an advantage over lower people or with the equipment worn are important.
I'm not sure how R-elements work into here, but I'm sure there's some C-elements within both games.
Weather in World of Warcraft is just hilarious. Why dont they spend more time working on burning crusade or SC2?

Isn't playing on private servers illegal for WoW?
I like guild wars for free play, but I think blizzard beat it with WoW. Most of my friends who play have no life and are always playing it whenever they have a chance.

If it's logical, then it's a type of game like Half-Life 2.
Since World of WarCraft is more of a statistic and logical game, then I think World of WarCraft is the better mmorpg.
Also, this thread was best off if it were a poll.
