I present to you the simplest map ever that is still likely to provoke some interesting ideas.
Infested Kerrigan may not have a sniper rifle, but that doesn't mean she can't snipe.

umm... What? I can't upload .scm files? x_X

How'd you do that. It looks to me like Kerrigna begins to attack a unit to the right of her then turns to the ghost. Did you maybe create and remove a cloaked unit?

The map's unprotected. Basically, yes, I'm creating and then removing a burrowed ling. Kerrigan targets the ling, ling dissapears, Kerrigan reaquires the ghost as a target, then attacks.
Right now I'm trying to make a map using this for a human-controlled Infested Kerrigan. I'm having a bit of trouble, though - it only works when she's walking downwards. If she has to turn, it takes too long for her to hit. So, I'm trying to come up with a clever way of figuring out which way she's facing. Once I figure that out, I can easily place a ling in front of her, have her attack it, and hit something else.

I don't think it's possible to know which way a unit is facing.
A way might be to make kerrigan move, then stop and put ling in front, but thats for comp.

If someone can find a way it's (U)Bolt_Head.

Couldn't you just create 8 zerglings around her? Like create one burrowed Hydralisk and then 8 zerglings. That'll create a ring of 8 lings around her if I'm not mistaken.

I'm getting close to done, actually. tongue.gif
I'm going to use a ring of ghosts around Kerrigan, and center small locations on them. When Kerrigan enters one of the locations, it will know she's facing that direction. I've tested it some, and it should work if I do it right. Now I just need to make the triggers for it.
Edit: Quick question. Does anyone know how to find the range in which units will automatically pick up new targets?

I would probably go with the units attack range.

But this kerrigan attacks BEYOND the attack range. tongue.gif

Yea Kej you showed me this a while ago along with the selection glitch. smile.gif

Oh and I'm slowly updating the Glitch Guide. By the time I'm done Starcraft 2 will come out. Heheh.

Okay, this is about as good as I can get it to work.
It's a bit hard to control her now, since she's commanded to attack whenever you're in range. I imagine if you were to use this, you'd have an option of disabling it (seige tank or something) for better control of her.

Edit: Odd. This map has more units, triggers, and locations, yet it's (slightly) smaller than the previous map. Silly compression. tongue.gif

Whoa kerrrigan attacks in long range lol.. but she is too weak. I die a lot without having some fun...

Wow that is weird......usually she has to get really close before she can attack (melee weapon der....)but now she has a bit more range (about a range of a hydralisk or firebat no upgrades)...Really twisted blink.gif

Nice Kejardon.
Never really thought of bothering with seeing what happens when you have units do things(i.e. attack, cast broodling, attack with Scarab, etc.) and what happens if you do stuff with triggers like moving, creating and destroying units.

I'll have to check this out after work. The disadvantage of just detecting witch direction she is walking is it doesn't indiate her turning once she is standing still.

You can ither do what you mentioned or force her to face downwards with the order trigger. Nither one will be friendly or perfect.

There are other methods of keeping the unit from turning but I don't know any that would allow you to control the unit.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I got it about as good as I can. I had to create a burrowed ling, then move it to her position. I then had to move Kerrigan to her same position (lose her previous target), then order her to attack (pick up the ling as a target ASAP). Fortunately, if a unit is right over its target, it doesn't need to turn to attack. biggrin.gif
