There's been a few maps, one in particular... El Defender... has water patches that are able to be walked on. How do you do it? Also... is there anyway on SCMDraft2 where you can have the terrain... I mean TERRAIN... like the tileset index/rectanglular terrain not snap to the grid?

scmdraft 2 doesnt have the square tiles. thats why most of that stuff on that map is in starforge.

the key to walk on water is.
have a unit created or walk on the null tile number (1-14)
then just normally walk towards the water and Walla! you just walked on water.

Wow you have never used SCMD. SCMD has been able to make square tiles since version 1. And is way better than SF in almost every way.

OK... what? I don't understand... You mean like... have a Null tile and then use a trigger to create a unit on it and then it becomes walkable water???
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)MinigameEast on 2006-03-25 at 22:17:17
only if the null tile is right next to the water.

That isnt going to help your just edging him on if anything by telling him that it annoys you. Just create the unit on Null Walkable and move it into water you can walk on stuff like walls too

Uhmmm... Can you give me the trigger and what's required to do it? I'm lost... helpsmilie.gif

create ground unit at location 1 (thats were the location is on top of the null tile)
order to move ground unit to location 2 (thats were the location is on top of water) OR you can just move your unit normally towards the water

I have a question that goes right along with this topic, where is the null terrain found in scm draft 2? is it just any of the black squares or specific one(s). I was just wondering cause im pretty sure i have used some of the black squares and they have not been walkable(is that a word?) Anyways i guess once you find the null terrain, the triggers and locations would be as such.

(put location A over null terrain)
(put location B right by location A *most likely on water*)

Trigger
Description:
Walkable Water
Players:
¤ whatever ones you want/need
Conditions:
¤ Whenever you need to walk on water
Actions:
¤ create 1 *unit* at location A for *effected players*
¤ issue order to all *unit* at location A; move to location B

that should do it for you.

Trigger
Description:
Walkable Water
Players:
¤ Player 1
Conditions:
¤ Always
Actions:
¤ Create 1 Terran Marine at '2(null)' for current player.
¤ Issue order to all Terran Marine at '2(null)' move to '1(water)'

Thats the trigger that I use... The Null square is right next to the water square.
[WATER][NULL]. It still doesn't work... Am I doing something wrong?

Ok... Im in the Jungle terrain and I used the Null Tiles above the creep ones... I used the first one... Am I doing something ELSE wrong?

... No...?

why dont you try using starforge. You can create your tiles to make it suit everything plus you can make a bigger area of a square to fill in. It is worth a try if you're having trouble with SCM Draft.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pyro_Maniak14 on 2006-03-26 at 21:41:47
Because I wouldn't even know how to do it with SF so there wouldn't be any point to downloading SF2 and using it...

Because you can do all that in SCMDraft2 and starforge has a lot of bugs in it such as corrupting the terrain. Starforge is totally inferior to SCMDraft2 except for the mission briefing editor in SCMDraft2 is buggy.

SCMDRAFT isnt even a real editor its a proggy stuck in half-beta stage, it also lacks so many things, that you have to dl seperate crap for, it has an assload of bugs, and I only find use for it for maybe like 3 things, and 1 of which is removing and adding map-revealers. Its also confusing as hell to learn how to do crap in it, and offers no real bonus that you cant do in xtra edit and starforge, and with greater ease I can do it.
