Can protoss buildings be built by using triggers? Not creating, but so that the warp and crystal-like formation actually appears.

i don't think so...unless theres a sprite thing for it...

there is a recall and create a building there for an idea...but think you'll reject it cause no creating a building...but i saw something about crystallic cannons in the tutorials

Well what I want is to at least be able to make that warp ball with only triggers.

If you can't get the Protoss Warp thing to be done in triggers, try using the Arbiter's recall or create a disruption web then remove it and create the building... Use the same thing for recall...

You could always trick the AI into making the building you want.

How about you just give the computer some minerals, and let it build!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by smasher25 on 2006-03-26 at 21:34:37
Whats wrong with creating? It has the same result whatsoever
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pyro_Maniak14 on 2006-03-26 at 21:37:35
Maybe he just wants the effect to make some animation...

i got an idea, im not sure if it will work though

Make a lot of triggers on a builing

Like create build with life at 0%

then make it 5% the 10% like it is being built!

Maybe more complex then that but that may work!

No... just no. closedeyes.gif

y, that wont work?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Azu on 2006-03-26 at 21:50:54
No it won't work. That is % of HP not % of building completion.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pyro_Maniak14 on 2006-03-26 at 22:13:21
No it won't work because all your doing is making it burn then making it not burn... So in a way you're just repairing it... We're talking about the effects that make the buildings... Not how they are manipulated...

Oh look here's a way

Interestingly enough, I posted that. However, it involves a peon that I don't want included. Plus stopping the peon crashes game.

And if you're wondering, yes, I'm trying to achieve a certain animation. The warp field (The blue protoss building warp ball).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-03-28 at 07:39:44
& you're not sattisfied with a recall animation ? or fast killing hallunicated observers ?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-03-28 at 22:42:55
It is impossible. You could probably do it with a mod, but not a regular map.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by HolySin on 2006-03-29 at 17:17:26
Well I guess I could try the ultimate glitch thing with a medic, but that's unstable, and I think cloaking the peon may crash it as well, I'm not sure.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PhoenixRajoNight on 2006-03-29 at 17:22:43
As long as your not cloaking a unit that belongs to a human player and they dont have vision of whats going on then they shouldn't crash.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Azu on 2006-03-30 at 19:22:19
Why not just trick a computer into building it? confused.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by HolySin on 2006-03-31 at 00:12:48
I don't want a visible computer unit. I just want the warp field. Plus I want the warp fields in certain areas.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Azu on 2006-03-31 at 19:33:12
Why not use arbiter recall then?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zeratul_101 on 2006-03-31 at 19:40:10
theres a big difference between the recall animation and the building animation

and how would you trick the computer anyways?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by HolySin on 2006-03-31 at 19:48:21
There are many methods of "tricking" the computer into building a nexus.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pyro_Maniak14 on 2006-04-01 at 00:12:44
Well I think we've all established that no... you cannot create the warp tunnel by using triggers; You can only do things that look like it.
