Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> [SOLVED] Protecting Maps
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WCK on 2006-03-28 at 18:23:26
My last topic was about unprotecting a map, because I wanted to edit it. But that is against SEN policy to give out info on how to unprotect a map. So I decided to give up on the idea of editing the map. However, now I am wondering how do I protect a map? because I am currently working on a map and I would like to make it protected but I have no clue how... I believe I heared it's done with a program, could someone give me a link to the download?

you can find assorted starcraft ultility programs as well as the map protectors in this link.

uberation is at the top.

you can go into proedit through here,
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=313

best ones i think to use right now is proedit and uberation(they just released a new version)

just simply download proedit or uberation. the instructions to do it is pretty straightforward.
heres a tip though, always make several copies or a backup of your maps before you protect them.one where you can access them so you can edit more and one to protect them, cause once you protect them you won't be able to open it again.

Your looking for Pro-Edit.

Which you can find here.
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=313

Also make sure you always keep a backup to edit, I name my maps Whatever Name.scx and then the protected Whatever NameF.scx

F stands for Final Draft.

I don't know how good or reliable Uberation is, I never used it. I personally trust Pro-Edit.

Uberation's protection is better than Pro-Edits's. The creator of Pro Edit even said so because Uberation first started as an addon for Pro Edit.

I like sticking to old things that work, its why I really don't use SCMDRAFT, because I find Starforge and Xtra work fine and dont really need to use it, but before this turns to a block of spam replies, they say Uberation is better, so use that.
